PRINCESS FUTZALOT

I'm all over the place today...avoiding things I really should be doing and playing with things I want to play with, like the Bargello Challenge:
It almost looks like I know what I'm doing and have a plan.  Trust me, friends.  This is an illusion.

My thread inspiration started with Caron Watercolours in Nile Sundown.  What is it with me and the purples and reds lately?

And finally, a little progress on Bird in a Nest.  Can I just say out loud right now that I am not exacly fond of the compensating?  I am, however, determined to continue with that background so that I can get to the fun stuff like the flowers.

In addition to this futzing there is the general life futzing that seems to be chasing me from room to room.  Stewey and I are really struggling with this new "normal" and just wish we could hit the rewind button.  I even went so far as to fantasize about moving away to a new little city, but then I realized that I just wouldn't be able to live without my stitchy sisters and all the love and fun they contribute to my life.

Don't worry...this too shall pass.  Eventually.  In the meantime, I'm going to keep on futzing.

What's new with you?

  1. Just wanted to put my two cents in on compensating...1)Don't over think it 2)If you get too crazy stitch in some grid lines every ten canvas threads I use regular sewing thread and I find I don't need to grid the entire background only the 'trouble spots' 3)if a mistake is made it will soon disappear in the background when the foreground is completed so just keep on keeping on.
    Happy Stitching

  2. I like what you have accomplished with the background. I also like the threads you have gathered for the bargello challenge. Go Coni!

  3. The back-round looks so nice. And I am interested to see how those threads look stitched up! :)
