I'm really using this as a lesson in perseverance since my default position is to chuck this back up into the studio and move on to something else, but for some reason I feel compelled to stick with it to the bitter end.
(At least to the bitter end of that background!)
The birds are sweetly tweeting today and the landscape guys are mulching, which means both Stewey and Bosco have been running from the front door to the back door to the front door and back again....barking and barking and barking. Oey.
Appointments this afternoon, and then I think I'll get right back to it. Here's hoping that you are having a Happy Thursday!
You are making super progress on the background, Coni! It is looking good!
ReplyDeleteYou'll be done soon with this piece Coni...wondering about something....do you get most of your needlepoint pieces framed? You finish so many you must have a home that looks like a gallery! If I stitched every chart in my stash I'd have to buy a museum to put them all on display LOL, I'm running out of wall space in my house.
ReplyDeleteI have wondered that as well. Your convases are all gorgeous and deserve to be framed and displayed. Once you run out of wall space, do you rotate your pieces? You seem to accomplish at least one finish per month. Always so beautiful and inspirational and the "open window" into your life with Stewey always entertaining. Thanks Coni.
ReplyDeleteI love how this is looking
ReplyDeleteThose open patterned backgrounds are a pain but worth it. Focus on how fun those flowers will be when that background is done, you will have saved the best for last!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. Isn't it funny how different people tackle the same project. If I had been stitching this one, I would have started with the bird and flowers. Then, if I lost steam, it would be the background that languished.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress! I think it will be worth all the trouble in the end!
ReplyDeleteI think it is so lovely. I look forward to seeing the completed project.
ReplyDeleteIt may be a pain to stitch, but that background looks amazing.
