TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN...AT LEAST NOT BY THIS PARTICULAR SPINSTER

  1. This is me, I confess. I love cardboard boxes and keep a supply of various sizes. After new years I had to downsize the collection. It was ridiculous. This was not as easy as it should have been. Love ya, enjoy your posts always.

  4. Yup. As soon as I throw away a box I need one that size! Although I confess it is time to go through the boxes stored in the basement so we can walk down there!

  6. I save boxes! My Mom is trying to get rid of things in her house and needs boxes. Glad I have them.

  7. My mom was a string saver and an aluminum foil saver. Me? I'm a box saver. I think I need a 12-step program. sigh...

  8. Cleaning out my grandmother's house, a parcel on a top shelf, inaccessible for decades, wrapped in brown paper and tied with string, neatly labelled 'Old stockings. Some need mending.'

  9. Oh Coni, this really made me laugh, I have a cupboard full of really useful cardboard boxes and another one of cosmetic jars and the like, which are really useful for storing beads and buttons etc.

  10. My husband buys top-quality premium (and expensive!) boxes of cherries every Christmas because they come in reeeeeeeally good boxes! LOL (And the cherries are pretty good too.)

  12. LOL! Here we collect cardboard boxes for mulching our vegetable beds - we even got the in-laws collecting them! But today I received some seeds in a narrow cardboard box - now it would be ideal for disguising some Christmas present in the future. Cardboard boxes are things of wonder and merriment! LOL!

  13. Oh my. I'm showing this whole thread to Hubster. He thinks I'm batty. All of my life that I can remember, I've had a Thing about Things To Put Things in. Not just boxes -- bottles, jars, bags, bowls, bins. Have more things to put things in than things. At 76, I am aware that I can't live long enough to use a tenth of this stuff. So I've begun recycling -- about an item a week. At this rate I'll have to live to 182. Still saving boxes -- to mail things we sell! When will it ever end. Our son, who lives in Canada, says if he had to handle the house after our deaths, he'd sell the whole business as is or put a match to it.

  14. OMG, Isabel, I can ditto everything you say. But, you have 4 more years than I do. My kids just roll their eyes at my "stuff" to say nothing of the fabric that I will never live long enough to use. Oh well, I figure it keeps me off the streets and out of trouble.

  15. I love this! I hope it's ok that I "steal" this and post on my Facebook page. I just saved 3 small boxes the other day because they were the perfect boxes. LOL

  16. LMBO because I have so many REALLY NICE boxes I'm keeping! Love, hugs & prayers, Cathryn PS. Yankee candles have a really nice top that you just close in the flame and it suffocates it and captures the black sooty flames. BUT they are expensive. There's always a but isn't there. ;)
