JUST ME AND THE CHICKENS...AGAIN

I took Rich to the South Bend International Airport and Transportation Center at 6:00 this morning for a quick trip down to Orlando for a trade show.  The thingie on the car said it was minus eleven degrees.  I think it's supposed to be sixty in Orlando today.

Jersey Boy didn't want to go.

Silly, silly, Jersey Boy.

My plan for the day is rather extensive.  I'm going to sit in the Happy Chair and ice my arm, drink damn good, read the paper, watch all of the TeeVee, stitch, and eat.

(Grueling, I know, but I've been training for this for years, Kids, so don't try this at home.)

Life is actually pretty swell in these here parts.  Buzzy is stiff and sore as a matter of natural course, and I have another day and a half of healing time before heading back for dialysis.  New Years Day falling on a Monday prompted me switching to a Sunday, Wednesday, Friday rotation this week, and I think this extra day us really a blessing.

So that's it for me and the chickens.  Rumor has it that they will have something to say in the very near future so stay tuned!

  1. Coni Dear just don't overdo the stitching. Perhaps set your timer for 15-30 min every hr or so & ONLY stitch till it goes off then ice " buzzy" for what ever amount of time your supposed to. Then get up stretch, potty, refill your drink, putter a hit & repeat.
Between my back, hip knee & foot this is my life for sewing @ the machine or stitching. If I sit for longer than 30 minutes it's tough to get my behind out of the couch & get moving. I look & feel like a zombie & I'm only 59 not 159.
LOL. So listen to your older sister ok.
    Blessings

  2. Highs this week are going to be around 50 degrees in Orlando, with lows around 33 and it's grey and overcast with showers. We've a NNE wind around 15 mph that's making it feel colder. In Florida, the cold is very damp and clammy - and to make matters worse, construction here is for keeping you cool, not warm. Usually this is a great time of year to come to Florida; this year, not so much. So don't feel quite so envious of JB. If Jersey Boy sees a honeybell orange, tell him to bring you one - they're the best!

  4. Coni: Sounds like a great plan, I did laundry cleaned and will just stitch and drink lattes, oh yeah. (oh and of course have the t.v. on)

    Blessings

  6. It has been in the 20s here in NC today. So glad I work from home as getting out in that cold is not fun. Hopefully buzzy is getting squared away! Take care.

  7. Glad to see you are feeling good & back to your cheerful self! Haha! I'm loving the chickens. My grandson has been wanting chickens so I bought him a stuffed chicken that he just loves. I put a Christmas scarf around his neck (the chicken, not my grandson...lol!) and we laughed ourselves silly over that! Life is good, let's all enjoy it! I'm on the tip of NJ shore (you may have visited this area at one time) & we may be getting a North Eastern snow storm tomorrow night with burst of 50 mph winds for 2 days. I guess it may get even colder then our 9 degrees tonight so I'm stocking up after EGA tomorrow with stitching, batteries & homemade soup. Have a wonderful & warmer week, Coni, & stay healthy! Prayers

  10. It is 25 here this morning in west Texas, and feels like 16. I am from NS Canada and don`t mind it, but people here are freaking out. Most likely don`t own heavy coats.
Today I am continuing making my DMC floss cards...it is boring but I will be so happy when done! Hope your day is fun and the chikens keep the frog away! xo Mj

  15. 75 degrees here in Aridzona; wish you were here. Anent the unfortunate letter I thought of I would take a leaf from Mr. Roger's playbook:

I like you as you are (imagine this is illustrated with muscial notes)
I wouldn't want to change you,
    Or even rearrange you,
    Not by far..................
I like you, like you, like you
    As you are.

    Much affection, Charlotte

  16. Well, it's been as low as 5 degrees here in Asheville in the last few days. Brrrr! School was canceled for at least 1 day. Guess they didn't want the kids developing hypothermia while waiting for the bus! Can't wait to hear what the chickens have to say. Was going to write "what the GIRLS have to say", but maybe one of them is a male. Of course, he would then be a rooster...not a chicken. In any case, I really want to know their names!
