OW.

Well, I suppose it had to happen to somebody, so it might as well be Yours Truly.

Guess who decided to get hit in the right boozoomba with a hockey puck tonight?

There we were at the Notre Dame vs. Denver game...section one, row two, seats eleven and twelve.  We were watching the pre-game warm up when an errant puck flew over the glass and hit me square in the right chest.

It knocked the breath right out of me and at first I thought I had been shot, but then I looked down and saw the puck in my lap and then kind of realized what had happened.

I'm fine...will probably have a nice bruse tomorrow, but at least now I can say I got that out of the way and can enjoy future games without too much worry.

After all...what are the chances that it could happen again?

  1. Awww....were you appointed the official hockey puck for the evening...least they could have done was given you a
season pass.... hope the bruise turns out to be mild and
disappears quickly.... what are the chances, right? You
nailed, Coni dear, if it is going to happen to anyone..
and they were only practicing...imagine the poor guy when
    they get serious and aim.....

  2. Friday the thirteenth. I'm not a superstitious person in the least...and then something like this happens. I'm sorry, it must have been very disorienting for you. This NEVER happens at a needlework shop, and rarely at a Guild meeting...

  3. Oh Coni! I read always but never comment until today.......so sorry about the puck. Your little daily antedotes brighten my day. Sorry, not meaning to sound like I am taking pleasure in your pain but really....what are the chances! OMGosh. I look forward to reading more of your adventures and misadventures. This is one I surely did not expect to read here. So glad you weren’t hurt worse........bet it will be sore today. Might have to sit in the Happy Chair all day and stitch while you recover. Robin.

  4. I've got an Army Puck from when we lived on West Point and had season tickets. I was leaning forward and it got caught in my hair and fell in my lap. The second one I got, I gave to a kidlet. You can get an acrylic box for pucks at the Container Store.
