BACK IN THE SADDLE...ISH

Kind of a quiet, gloomy/foggy Tuesday thus far here in Hoosierville, but I am cozy in the Happy Chair with my damn good cup of coffee, my magic blanket, and the newspaper for company.

I'm determined to stitch today, but I'm grappling with my basket choices.  I had visions of a new start for the new year, but January 1 came and went without a needle in my hand, and yesterday I futzed around aimlessly while Miss Charlene and Miss Jane were here for a lovely stitchy visit.

(I blathered on aimlessly like a crazy person while they secretly indulged me and froze to death, because I'm not smart enough to realize that not everybody keeps their house like a meat locker, and it's not necessary to let ALL of the voices in your head talk at once...but, bless them, these girls know me and did their penance with sympathy and good cheer.)

The internets isn't helping me any, since I seem to be spending more time oohing and aahing over all of your wonderful progress than I am actually making any of it on my own, and I am shamelessly avoiding a guild assignment that has turned out to be the very bane if my existence.

(It's only the third day of the year for crying out loud!  I can't possibly be in a schlumpadink already, can I?  Perhaps it's just a case of the post-holiday blues or the moon and stars are out of whack or the ort jar debacle from Sunday is still mesding with my juju...)

OK...time to pull up my knickers and get on with it.  As soon as I finish the puzzles and read my horoscope, it's back to the studio.  Elton is going on the stereo, the stash is going to get pawed, and I'm going to get back in my lane and do my thing if it's the last thing I do!

Onward!

  2. Pull up your droopin knickers girl! I stitched up a giant pillow case for my body pillow even did fancy stars with my machine on the end flap thingy now my backs "ouchin" so I'm relaxing with a rework fan block & starting a movie. I planned on starting the new year with sewing up a jacket I cut out last yr but... Maybe my knickers are droopy too. Lol you'll get going when the time is right. Baa

  6. Oh Coni, you make me laugh. Your baskets of possibilities look amazing - any choice from those would be a good choice. The thought of quiet, gloomy fog outside sounds like a wonderful incentive to stay inside, cosy, and stitch you little heart out. Enjoy.

  7. No new year starts for me...but I'm gonna have me plenty of new starts in 2017. Your tree is pretty darn amazing. That blankie is pretty darn amazing and a damn good cup of coffee is now making me get out of my happy chair to brew myself one :)
I hope your Tuesday turned out great! (P.S. we keep our house like a meat locker too...germs multiply in heat, not in cold and I'm happiest when my butt is almost like a block of ice)

  10. I have faith in you; you'll find one of the projects is calling your name. And as for the guild assignment, after that gorgeous piece you designed, there's nothing they can ask of you that you can't accomplish beautifully!

  11. I too can't pick up a needle and stitch. I try, but after a couple of stitches, I am done and I back to playing on the internet. I think I have so much stirring in my mind that I can't or don't want to concentrate, so the internet doesn't require thought.

  12. I have finally picked up the needle again. Nothing huge, just a little ornament piece called "Snow Birds" from Country Cottage Needleworks from the 2014 (I think) Just Cross Stitch ornament issue. I like to stitch in season and I think this one will fit for January (probably will take me the whole month to finish it but that is okay). Have you finished Gilmore Girls yet? Good tv show (and damn good cup of coffee!) will be good companions for those needles to get going. Have a great day!

  13. I am having a slow start myself, I have been cleaning and working but not a lot of stitching, ah well it will come in time. I am trying to be easy with myself this year.
