AND THEN THE HAPPY CHAIR GOT A BATH

So there I was, minding my very own business, when it occurred to me that there might be a solution to the Stewey "issue" here at Chez Spinster.

"I can call people!", I thought to myself.  "I can call people who know how to clean things, and I can ask these people to bring their cleaning machines to help me rid myself once and for all of the "situation" we've developed over the short nine years that Stewey has been watering the planet!"

So at 10 am on the d.o.t., two nice men named Terry and Nick arrived with their cleaning machines to spiff things up once and for all.  At first, I was mortified that they would see that I have furniture older than Methuselah His Very Self, but they assured me that they've seen worse and I shouldn't be embarrassed over a piddle or two.

Especially when you consider that Stwey met them at the door wearing his best silk smoking jacket, and promptly offered them a cold beverage. (Martinis, thankyouverymuch.  Stirred, not shaken.  With twists.)

Damn dog.

A few Sure-fit slipcovers later and I'm now suitable for guests.  Aunt Chrissy and my Jersey Boy won't know what hit 'em.

We're not even going to talk about the state of NON-STITCHING that's going on around here.  If I don't get a needle in my hand this evening, there's going to be hell to pay.

What's new in your world?  Hopefully your furniture and carpets are piddle-free and your needles are flying!

  1. Nice to see that you and Stewey are doing well. We have our furniture and carpets cleaned periodically too. So nice to let someone else do the work. Well worth the money.

  2. Well we'd be lost at our house without our Little Green Machine by Bissell. My dogs sometimes have anxiety when we're gone. It's either than or they start wrestling until one of them gets sicks. Why or why is it always on the rug instead of hundreds of feet of tile we have?? I just had Stanley Steemer out last week to do our area rug again. Dogs...we love 'em but they sure can create work for you.....

Looks like some nitwit has spammed your blog Coni.....

  3. For future (intentional or unintentional) accidents (ha ha…) blot up moisture, spritz with vinegar, wait until it's almost dry and add baking soda (mush it in). Allow to completely dry then vacuum.

Would love to know how you like the SureFit cover. I just ordered one for a sofa yesterday. Can't wait to come out of the 1990's!

  4. Sigh... there's a lot of non-stitching going on in my house too which I am very unhappy about. Go figure. If I come over will Stewey meet me at the door in his smoking jacket with a cold beverage? As my father-in-law used to say - "it won't solve things, but at least you won't care for a little while."

So Happy for the Happy Chair. ;o)

  5. Phoebe, who celebrates her 14th birthday today, occasionally waters and heaves on the oriental. Resolve and Febreeze have become my best friends. Stitching nearby helps make cleanups more timely.
