GUM!!! THE DAMN DOG WAS CHEWING GUM!!!

As I settled into the Happy Chair for a little stitching last night I caught something out of the corner of my eye that prompted a frantic call to Aunt Chrissy.

"OH MY GOD!!! THE DOG IS CHEWING GUM!  CHEWING!! GUM!  CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?  MY! DOG! IS! CHEWING! GUM!

You would think that this would have prompted said aunt to jump into her fancy pants sports car and rush right over, but instead all I heard was a heavy sigh, followed by what I assume was the last remnants of a large glass of wine being administered.

"HE'S CHEWING GUM, AUNT CHRISSY!  GUM!  HOW THE (BLEEPITY BLEEP BLEEP) DID MY DOG GET CHEWING GUM!"

With this, Aunt Chrissy asked me to put Stewey on the phone, and after several minutes of discussion, he trotted over and spit the gum out (in rather delicate fashion, I might add) into a tissue.

I swear, the two of them are gas-lighting me.

"See my tiny little bunny teeth?  They're minty fresh!"

Here's a little progress on Orchid Maze.  I would have accomplished more, but there was the gum incident, as well as several hours of Kevin Costner movie watching to be done.
That's the report for today.  I hope that your little corner of the world is considerably less dramatic.  Woo Hoo!

  1. Ha! I kept finding half chewed starburst candy here and there... and was trying to find the source of them. I kept thinking I had gotten them taken care of, so my Buster and Chloe wouldn't be tempted. Finally found a huge stash of candy in my mother's craft room... :) Although she claimed she didn't know they were taking them, I'm not sure I believe that. She'll give them almost anything they ask for!

  3. You should count yourself lucky Stewey is not a normal pup -- he could have been rolling in something foul!

  4. HAHA!! Gum must be the thing this week. My husband left a 5-pk of gum on the table and our kittens did their best to get it all chewed before we woke the next morning. I'm still finding little tiny balls of blue gum all over the house! At least you shouldn't have to worry about dog breath for awhile, lol!

  5. Hahahahahahaha. I cannot stop laughing!!! My favorite part "tiny little bunny teeth." LOL. Your wording is just impeccable. This has to be one of my favorite posts from you. A long time ago I had a dog that ate an entire bowl of those Nestle Treasures, caramel filled. He left ONE in the bowl. My then husband said, oh, he left you one!!! He ate the wrappers and all!!! Orchid Maze looks fabuloso, of course!!!

  7. Ha, ha that is something the Bug has never done. Glad he spit it out for you and it did not have to travel out the other way. Even my daughters know that Keven Costner has been a heart throb for me, and I don't fall in love with movie stars just any day. Love your stitching, looking great!

  8. And no video of said gum chewing!? That would have been great to watch, lol! Animals sure do the craziest things.

Love your stitching! It's very "halloween-ish".

  11. Coni, Please tell Stewie to keep away from the sugarless gum. Any gum containing xylitol is VERY poisonous to dogs. Karen

Regarding Stewey: what a little nut! Glad you were able to get the gum away from him before he swallowed it.

  14. Minty fresh eh? Well, he is nothing if not fastidiously tidy - even down to his bunny teeth. Glad he is okay.

Your project looks marvelous, you are making great progress on it - and honestly, with a couple of Kevin Costner movies on, a slower progression is to be expected...one must pay attention.

  20. LOL at Stewey! My sis`s dog would chew gum but always swallow it. She preferred pre-chewed bubble gum from the park. Ugh! Love your project...so pretty!
