I'LL TAKE PERSONAL VICTORIES FOR TWO HUNDRED, ALEX

Moments ago I catapulted myself out of Dottie Van Buskirk and shouted "Woo Hoo! Look Ma! No cavities!"

There are two things you should know about that last sentence.

One, Dottie Van Buskirk is my vehicle. (Yes, I had come to a proper and complete stop in the garage.)

And two, my neighbor happened to be walking by at that precise moment, so I caught him shaking his head while muttering to himself "What in the Sam Hell is WRONG with that girl?"

But I will take any little piece of good news I can find and turn it into cause for celebration, so... cake for everybody! The Spinster Stitcher got a good report from the dentist and all of the barnacles scraped off of her molars at the same time, so let's break out the Devil's Food and get on with it!

Here's a little progress pic from last night. There would have been more but You Know Who insisted that we go to bed at a decent hour and not sit up until the wee hours poking needles through linen.

We're off for pawticures and grocery shopping tonight, and if the weather people are correct, we'll also get hit with a winter storm. Looks like it's time to break out the crock pot again! Methinks we're in for a stitchy weekend!

Here's hoping that you have your own little victories today and that somebody is there to share them with you! Don't forget the cake!

  1. Yeah, I could use a piece of cake myself. All three of my grown daughters called me this morning with troubles to talk about. I think I would have rather had a cavity. My head is still spinning. Love you colors on your stitchy piece looking great!

  2. Coni: IMHO everyone in the world needs a little Spinster Stitcher to get them through their day. Maybe that is the reason for so much world conflict, lack of a good smile and a chuckle. I love your little victories Coni, and the fact you are so happy about them.

  3. With all your crazy, wonderful progress, you are going to drive me to actually stitching L'Ete eventually instead of just hording the chart!

  8. Oh BLECH!! My appointment for my sandblasting is next week. I never look forward to it.

Meanwhile, I have you to blame for my resurrecting old canvas pieces and starting new ones, especially the Laura J Perin pieces. I had some in my stash but have since gotten more. It's your fault, can I send you the bill? ;)

  12. Maybe putting my spring wreath on the front door yesterday was bad timing as they say a winter storm and a big dump of snow is on the way! oops! I'll raise my piece of cake to you Coni, cheers.

  14. I'm relatively new to your blog and I return regularly to read your posts. Isn't it nice to have clean smooth teeth? LOL! Thanks for the celebrations. I don't have cake in the house, but I'll just have a bit of dark chocolate for you and do some celebratory stitching.

  15. Congrats on the good dental report. As the proud owner of 2 crowns that took 5 root canals to prepare for, I feel your bliss...Hope you have a cosy stitchy weekend...

  16. Love your humor, your projects and your outlook on life! Did you prep for snow? Did you get it/are you expected to get a lot?

Also, since I'm a cat person and they are more asleep than awake but my sister has her pups - does your dog just get up and start toward the bedroom at a designated time? Her dogs say 9 p.m. is bedtime and are very insistent, they don't win often but they are continuing to try and train her. LOL

Many congrats on a good dentist visit!

  18. I'm looking forward to a stitching weekend, and hoping for winter weather so I can stay in without the guilt! But...may have to make an exception to go to the store for brownie mix. And, I agree with Janet...I, too, need a little SS to make my week a lot more fun, so THANK YOU!
