PREVIOUS POST REMOVED

I've removed the previous post about me "burning my face off". Not good timing considering Oprah's show today about a woman who suffered horrifying disfiguration in a car accident.

If I offended anybody who thought I was trying to be funny (I wasn't, I swear), I'm truly very sorry.

  1. I wasn't offended .. my DD's friend had an allergic reaction to a face mask .. she swelled up and got all red and blotchy and itchy while in our care... so I can understand what you went through ...so try not to feel bad .. you weren't to know what was going to be shown and you just described it as how it was .... (hugs) mouse xxxxx

  2. I don't watch Oprah. I've had chemical reactions like the one you described, so I knew you were on the level. Don't worry so much!

  6. I didn't see the post either but I am sure it was not offensive at all. And don't worry, the world is ending tomorrow anyway so everyone will forget about it! LOL! I am just kidding!!!! Love your blog!

  7. I wasn't offended either . a blog is just a blog. . . and sometimes something you write seems so wrong later, but that is just how it goes.

  8. Oh darn...I missed that post...and missed Oprah today too...but never fear...I have DVRd it. And as Lori U said...the world is ending tomorrow anyway, no worries. I sure hope it ends before I have to work, wouldn't want to waste my time!

  9. I don't think you would intentionally offend anyone...there is always someone someplace that will read it as they "see" it.....Stewey would not live with a bad person.

  10. Oh for the love of.......you worry too much. There is no way you can go through life and be perfectly timed all the time. If offense is not meant, it can't be taken, right!

  11. I read yoru post, but I don't watch Oprah and didn't know, and I commiserated with you on the burning face since I've done it myself! Also, mascara makes my eyes itch and run, so I've given up on pretty much everything but Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.

Don`t worry so much my dear...feeling like I know you (like all your readers i`m sure) I know you would never intentionally offend anyone. I missed Oprah too....I have been busy worshiping the porcelain god (flu, ick)

    Kisses to Stewey...

  14. I did read it, and it was FUNNY. I don't watch, therefore, I don't live and die by Oprah. Please bring your post back! while I appreciate your sensitivity, I know that no offense was intended, and I think you worry too much! :)

  15. Thanks Coni for being so concerning about your readers, but I am another one who doesn't watch Oprah. Nor was I offended by what you wrote. I loved your stitching update and was concerned about what happened. Hope all is well with your skin. Hugs, Cathryn

  16. I read your post yesterday. It was not offensive. I have very sensitive skin and more than once have experienced the scalded cat look. You were just relating a life experience many of us have had. I have been following your blog for just a short time, but I can see that a health dose of humor and NOT malice is in your heart.

  17. I don't watch Oprah but I do read your blog each and every day, and for good reason. You're funny, down to earth, and an all-around hoot!!! Keep 'em coming!

P.S. I used to be a sunaholic and I'd bask in it all summer (waaay back when). I had a facial after a long day in the sun once and it peeled the whole tan off my face, so I know of what you speak. ;)

  18. Anyone who has read your blog on a regular basis would know that you were not making fun or light of the girl on Oprah, you were just being the Spinster Stitcher! It is nice that you are kind and considerate of others, though, and wish not to offend them with your humor.

  19. Not too worry...I don't think anyone would take offense. I don't watch Oprah so don't know about the story you mentioned. You were just telling us about your mishap and in a funny way as you always do!

  20. May I suggest you wait for a couple of weeks, and then repost it? Maybe with a little disclaimer about why you felt the need to take it down for awhile...
