THIS IS A GOOD DAY

Hello, Dearies.

Today is the best day yet. I was up super early and we were out and about by 8:00 for an appointment with Dr Thompson...my surgeon. Staples have been removed, questions have been answered, restrictions have been lifted, and I am just overwhelmed with gratitude for the progress I've made in these last four weeks.

I have a new normal now...a bit slow and tender, but each day there is a little spark of that hapless spinster who used to bumble her way through the most ridiculous adventures. I'm not quite back to full-on flower-squirting clown mode just yet, but...

Louie.

His name is Louie. (*)

Cheers, Dearies. I am still so very very grateful to you for the continued love and support. I hope that you have a fantastic Fat Tuesday and a Happy Chinese New Year and all of the other things that are happening today!

Whatever fun you're having...come tell me all about it!

(*) You get Super Spinster status if you can guess who Louie is and how he got his name.

  2. I think I know who Louie is, but am clueless as to how he got his name. Now that the staples are removed, I will continue to pray for your body's healing and the new normal. xoxox, Coni!

  3. Yesterday we went from our small town into a larger city to do our weekly shopping at Costco. I so love their fresh fruit! We spoil ourselves with strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries on our cereal every morning all year long. Yes, it does cost more, but we have not even had one cold for three winters now. No flu, no Covid, etc. So while our grocery bill is higher, we have had no doctor bills, no medicines to buy, and we love breakfast time!

Anyway, we were thinking of what to eat for lunch when I spied a Panda Express. We hadn't eaten at one of those for several years. It was so fun for us. It is obvious how simple our lives are if we get excited by Panda Express! We bought the two entree meals and naturally, were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of food. We will have our third meal from this today. Ha ha.

Enjoy Louie. Feel such great joy in your returning health! Once many years ago I was extremely ill. I got so excited just by breathing. I'm not excited by breathing anymore, but I try to remember that experience and all it taught me. Life is about the simple joys! I just had to retype that because my goofy cat jumped on the keyboard. She is such a computer virus!

  8. You are just unbelievable, Coni. You amaze me. I am so glad that you are moving along well with your healing and your good spirits. Keep up the good work .As Maya Angelou once said ( and I live by this quote) "Every storm runs out of rain". Remember that!
