HAPPIER SUBJECTS

Good Tuesday morning, Dearies!

I am enjoying my second cup of damn good and then going to head out for an appointment and a few errands. It's sunny and cool and positively lovely out there in Hoosierville today, so methinks I might try to grab a cup of something and sit with my face in the sun or a book in my lap. Or both.

Bliss.

No stitching to report. I was entirely naughty over the weekend and had too much salt, so my fluid gain was a bit higher than I would have liked. This resulted in a tough treatment that knocked me out, but I did manage to finish bingeing Downton in its entirety once again.

My attempt at keeping plants alive at CS2 is working so far, I'm happy to say. Here's some proof:

I'm tempted to add more to the mix, but my better angels tell me to just concentrate on these for a bit before going too crazy.

I posted a pic of my lemon ritual and confused the heck out of everybody. I buy a big bag of them from the Costco and scrub them up with a veggie brush, slice, put on a parchment-lined cookie sheet, and freeze:
Then I drop them into a Ziplock and keep them in the freezer to add to my ice water:

I must not have explained this very well, because folks seemed to be confused as to what the heck I was up to. Nothing revolutionary...just me being super lazy and wanting the convenience of just opening a bag instead of having to slice and scrub and whatnot.

Well, I think that's about it from here today. I'll leave you with one of my favorite pictures from the wedding:

I hope your very own Tuesday is perfectly swell! Come tell me all about it!

  1. Just a typical day for me. I got up early to go to a funeral. I was very early because the funeral isn’t until next Tuesday. (Like I said, typical for me.) I need to finish a library book and do some sewing, or I might binge watch something on Britbox. Hope you enjoy your day.

  2. Lovely picture of the 4 of you! Today is 'mammogram' day, grocery shopping, and dinner out. Nothing exciting but an enjoyable day ahead.

  3. I do the same things with limes, but am even lazier, I slice them and put them right into the ziploc bag, so spreading them out on parchment and freezing them first. Great for tea water, and if two freeze together and I can't get them apart, then I put two slices in my beverage. :o}

  4. Plants--nope. I kill em with kindness--overwater. Good luck with yours. The overwatering also often damages the surfaces of tables, etc. where the poor darlings sit. Sigh.

  5. Try roasting your lemons, so good over chicken or in tea. I'm sure they would be delicious in water as well!

  7. Scrubbing those lemons before you slice them is a superb idea. They say that they are handled by many people and harbor germs on them. So glad you are vigilant. No lemons in my water though. I have lots of plants but the whole east side of my house is windows and they love it! Take care,

  16. You look so beautiful in that picture Connie....I'm so glad you were able to enjoy your time at the wedding. I wanted to throw out a warning about the lemon water, which I drank for years. It turns out the acid eroded the enamel on my teeth so bad I now have an endless and expensive list of crowns I need. I also ended up with gastric ulcers and incontinence (lemon is a stomach AND bladder irritant I guess)....both resolved after I stopped drinking it, but not before I suffered great pain and embarrassment. Apparently nothing that tastes good can be consumed due to a list of reasons that would stretch to the moon. :(
