NEW VIEWS

Yesterday was...eventful.

I finally finished Winter Wonderland (birds yet to come). The little frame for it will be here today, so I might be able to finish/finish it by the weekend!

In other news...

I'm not sure I really want to talk about this, because, as you all know by now, I do not react well or handle change very well. This little exercise was an attempt to give my Jersey Boy a more comfortable way to watch his sporting shows on the TeeVee. He is sitting in a recliner now, and as soon as it arrives, will be properly ensconced in a new Man Chair, complete with heat and massage, cup holders, and usb ports.

I'm seriously considering changing my name to Frazier.

The next step will be a re-cover of the Happy Chair. Period. Full stop. After thirty-two years of fretting over it, I have decided to pick a nice simple fabric and JUST GET IT DONE. I'm pretty sure I will be buried in this damn chair, but guess what? After years of therapy and thinking about it, I have finally come to understand that this is more than a chair to me and always has been.

Stitching will commence the moment my nails are dry. I just painted them a cheery red for February and am very happy about that.

I hope that your little corner of the world is wonderful today! Come tell me all about it!

    1. Now that I have made the decision to keep it I think I'll be fine knowing that it's coming back to me.

  3. Winter Wonderland looks gorgeous and those beads are amazing. Share a pic after the birds are on board, please. Your new view is refreshing and the books, wow! I like it and JBs chair sounds like the cockpit of an airplane. Im excited for your happy chair revival, and proud of you for taking that big step, and as a wise woman once said to me...”You do you, Boo...and don't ever stop!” wink wink

  4. You can do this! The new arrangement looks amazing, and you will be so comfortable once your Happy Chair is reupholstered. I got mine done a couple of years ago and haven't regretted it for a minute.

  5. Looks good! I'm jealous, I want that man chair, I've been using one of a pair of bamboo pretzel side chairs that my folks got used in the early 1940’s!

  7. While I did like your old view just fine I have to say I am liking this view too. And if worse comes to worse just move it back. JB will get over it :) Congrats on finishing Winter Wonderland! It is beautiful!

  8. But the important question is...what do the Chicken Sisters think of the new layout?? :)

    1. Well, their feathers are a bit ruffled because I am now sitting directly in front of them and can supervise accordingly (as opposed to "the old cute guy" that let them get away with murder).

  9. The Winter Wonderland is so pretty. I did laugh at the Frazier reference - we've been going through the DVDs - on the bright side you don't have the duct tape all over yours yet! I like a nice change around sometimes, it inevitably gets moved back again. But rooms tend to dictate where things must be from the doors, windows, power points etc. Enjoy the swap around - make it feel like a bit of a holiday/vacation home! Enjoy.

  10. I think I like your new view better. I know *I'd* rather look at a nice book shelf than the kitchen. At least my kitchen. Winter Wonderland is pretty.

  13. All that shifting and shuffling -- after it's done, you'll wonder why you hesitated. You will enjoy, and you will keep on enjoying the NOW. Your Winter Wonderland is an uplifting scene. Hubs and I are enjoying a cold, windy Emerald Isle (NC). Too chilly for beach strolling, but that's okay.

  14. I don't know what the room used to look like, but really like the flow of this set up. I just redid ours when I took the Christmas tree down - but it didn't affect where my happy chair is. I totally understand your emotional attachment. I think I would feel the same when the time comes. We have also joked that I need to be taxidermied and lowered down. How nice to share our lives with people who make us happy and support us in good or the rough times.
