MONDAY AGAIN!

Well, here we are again on a cold and cloudy Monday in Hoosierville,Dearies.I had such a hard time hauling myself out of the big girl sleigh bed, but haul I did and here we are.

A small start was made on the Frosty Morning Mill Hill kit, and my plan is to try to make a little more progress here in the d-chair today if my arm needles will allow. They are a bit wonky today and hurting quite a bit, so I'll have to be careful. I am going to give it a good try and pray that I don't end up on the naughty list.

(That's the difference between me and some of my podmates. I just want to come in and melt into the wallpapaer and not bother anybody. Some patients, though, seem to think they are at the Ritz Carlton and that the staff is here to cater to their every non-medical whim. Me? I'd rather have them concentrating on just keeping me alive rather than charging my phone or sorting my tote bag.)

Blood pressure continues to be a problem on treatment days. I start out well enough, but about an hour in, start to drop very quickly. When this happens, I usually call out, take a couple of pills to raise it up a bit, and quickly lie back in the chair and count dots on the ceiling. I play a game with myself to see if I can accurately guess what the numbers will be....90/40, 100/60, etc. Usually I'm pretty close.

So that's my happy world at the moment. A little stitching, a little dialysis, and a whole lot of Starbucks when I get home. I am allowing myself to make cold brew on Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Fridays stop for a professional version if my weight is below goal. I got into the habit of stopping EVERY time after treatment, and that just doesn't make any sense at all....pennies-wise.

Happy Monday! What's new in your corner of the world?

  1. Well, I am loving all of your Mill Hill goodies and I can feel it in my bones that I'm going to have to dig some of my kits out and get my sorry self working on them! I love the needlepoint cardinal project but that's WAY beyond my ability level so I'll just enjoy watching your progress on that one. I hope dialysis goes smoothly today. Take care of you, please!

  5. Here's hoping your poor arms are not ouchy for long and the blood pressure stays steady. Make way for the lady gasping for her Starbucks! The new pattern is very sweet and I am loving the little birds which I'm guessing are cardinals.
Here, not much to report. It is cold and windy but dry and we all want to hibernate! I gave the ducks a lot of straw bales to play with yesterday - they completely forgot about the mud! Serves two purposes - protection from the north wind and an activity centre! Three if you count me sighing with relief and not worrying about them. I did have protective plastic on the frame to shield them, but the naughty things beaked it all off! Take care xxx
