I've spent the better part of my entire adult life living in shame that I have not maintained hospital standard cleansiness in my home, and now I'm disinfecting and tidying like an Amish woman hosting church services.
In addition to the love and dedication of front line workers, voluntary quarantiners, and everybody else pulling together to look out for each other during this thing, I am most grateful for the fact that I have finally learned how to use a Clorox wipe.

ReplyDeleteWe have Dettol wipes - I gather they are similar disinfectant type of thing. Every time we get a grocery delivery everything is wiped down - you just don't know who has touched it along the line from manufacture to packing. Boxes are recycled and fruits are washed prior to eating. I like to use the Clean My Space girl's "recipes" for cleaning - she's in Toronto and pretty good. I have no idea how I found her somehow on Youtube. But she is funny and I want her nice clean home! LOL! But bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and surgical spirit (rubbing alcohol), dish washing soap and essential oils are the must haves - which I usually have anyway. So many uses for normal household products! We can't have borax over here, there is now an equivalent which is apparently not as effective, but then I've never tried it. Anything natural works because we don't have sewage drains apart from a septic tank in the garden. It can't have harsh cleaners, so the harmless things are good.
