Coni, when I get down (I lost my daughter to AML at age 20) I try to get "outside" of me & my sadness by doing a pay it forward/act of kindness type thing. I promise it really does help. It can be as simple as making a nice uplifting comment to the Starbucks waitress, visiting an elderly neighbor, taking a small veggie tray to dialysis to share, etc. It gets our minds outside of our emotional distress and eventually, wallah,we feel a bit better. Soon, the flowers will be blooming, grass will turn green & birdies chirping. That seems to make things better too. Meanwhile, I will continue to pray for your grumpies to find a new place to live and leave you alone! If you ever get to south Jersey with your man, come visit me.
