FRIDAY...HOLEY. SCHMOLEY.

Well, Dearies, I am in the d-chair and hooked up to the machine. There is really no way for me to tell you what the needle insertion was like, but I can honestly tell you I am surprised, glad, and relieved that I survived it.

Yup.

It was as bad as I imagined.

My team surrounded me and Miss Lori actually cried right along with me, which was oddly comforting somehow. Even the poor maintenance guy took pity on me and stopped vacuuming the rug outside my pod while they were working. (i swear I saw him bow his head in prayer, but that could be the Tramadol talking.)

Now that the trauma is over, I'm going to settle in with my goofy juice, my breakfast cookies, and Flosstube. I am not going to fret about another thing today...I'm all fretted out.

No plans for the weekend. We are anticipating weather, so that means I will hunker down with something in the crock pot and Netflix. If I can, I will stitch, but my poor arm might need a little more time before that can happen.

Thank you for your love and encouragement. Hopefully this will become a distant memory soon and we can get back to our regularly scheduled programming!

Hope your weekend is wonderful! Stay warm and safe and dry and stitch all the things!

  1. Oh tenacious one - that you made it to the D-chair is meritorious....Had hoped the surgery would have eased the
insertion process... Your Miss Lori is a treasure and she
probably sees you as one, as well. Settle now into Flosstube
and enter the weekend prepared to be hunkered down in warmth,
comfort and enjoyment with JB. God bless.

  3. I've been thinking of you all morning and praying that things would go smoothly today. I'm glad to hear that you finally got hooked up, although I'm sorry it was so awful (Miss Lori sounds like a star!) Hope all goes well for the rest of the day, and then you can rest and relax this week-end! Take care.

  4. Sorry you are having such a time! You are in my thoughts and 💓. Very good to have such great people at the D place. That is a big help. Hope the session goes well for the rest of your time today.
We are expecting a small storm this evening and a larger one Saturday. I have one more errand and then I'm home for the duration. I have books, groceries, and a few treats. I don't need the treats but---what the heck.
Enjoy the rest of your day and the weekend.

  10. I'm glad I was sitting down when I read this because the thought of your needle insertion in that freshly wounded area gave me a case of the vapors. You are so brave and so strong. And can you give Miss Lori a hug from me and a thank you for taking such loving care of you. (I cried along with a burn patient once. Made us both feel a little better)
Everyone, if you are snowed on this weekend please stay safe and warm.
