TMI...WARNING...GRAPHIC PHOTOS AHEAD

Betty seems to think that the whole Buzzy/dialysis thing is a scam and asked for proof.

Um.

OK.

But first...here's a picture of my fancy holiday nails and my favorite cover on my Erin Condren date book for your enjoyment and to buffer the horror that comes after:

I'm not too sure about the two colors, but at this point anything that keeps me from gnawing away at my cuticles is a good thing. (Filthy habit that I can only break myself of when my nails have polish on them.)

As for Buzzy...here he is in all his dented glory:

There you go, Betty. Feel free to drop me your real name and mailing address so I can send you a Christmas card/restraining order. I promise you that me being a dialysis patient is real and that I am on the UNOS waiting list for a kidney at Indiana Univeristy Transplant Center. You have my permission to call them to confirm, but please know that they will ask you if you are a donor and that might be a little awkward for you, Dearie.

Here's their number: (800) 382-4602. Ask for Jane...she's my coordinator and will tell you everything you want to know.

(Damn Betty.)

OK...back to Thursday afternoon shenanagins. I am going to pop over to the Martins for a few quick little things for a healthy dinner.  I have a nice piece of salmon that I want to make, but need a nice green veg and a salad to go with. I'm thinking broccoli, green beans, or brussels sprouts.

(I might have to treat myself to a little Starbucks when I'm there today.  I've been hankering for a latte with a pump of cinnamon dulce for what seems like a month now! Time to splurge!)

More tomorrow! Here's hoping for a good stitchy night!

WooHoo!

  1. Hi Coni, I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy reading your blog. In fact, I am disappointed when you miss a day. You are inspiring, funny and an have an infectious positive attitude. If Betty doesn't like (or believe) what you post, she should just not read it. Don't let people like her get to you. There are more like me who look forward to hearing about your life and are praying for you!

  2. What a pitiful excuse for a human being this Betty person is. She must have a horrid life that she has nothing better to do than be hateful. I feel sorry for her. Don't let her get you down, Coni. People who act like that are miserable inside and out. You hang in there and just know that you have lots of prayers going your way! --- Barbara

  3. I vote for broccoli or green beans to go with the salmon. Your nails look very festive. Thank you for sharing the cover of your planner!

Pay no mind to Betty! There are more of us who like hearing what you are up than her.

    Have a good evening, Coni!

  12. Until now I thought I was the only human who, unless nails are polished, will gnaw my cuticles until they are bloody messes. Yes Betty, it’s true and no, I will not prove it.

  15. Coni, Don't let one person make you feel this way. You are loved by a whole bunch of us, and you have us in your corner every day. You are a wonderful, courageous woman, with such a wonderful sense of humor. Like everyone else, I do so look forward to 'hearing from you' every day. You are a great friend.
Thank you for all you are to us. I hold you close in my prayers each day. Donna

  16. Gosh, Coni, whoever this Betty is, she must have real issues! If she doesn't like your blog, why does she keep reading? Some people make it their mission in life to make everyone else as miserable as they are. You don't owe her satisfaction of giving answers to her intrusive questions. Just keep entertaining us with your wit and stitchy antics. I look forward to hearing from you and keeping up with your news. I worry with you through your medical adventures. I am a big fan. Betty should just take her hoop and her floss and move along.

  17. That damn Betty....she has a clone in my town. I just ignore her and let her dig her grave deeper. I'm sure all her neighbors and people that come in contact with her have her # too. Poor dear hasn't a friend in the world so she tries to make life miserable for everyone else. She doesn't understand she is just making herself more isolated. Patty McDonald

  18. I had assumed that at this stage Betty had long departed the scene and that you referred to her everyone now and then as part of a long-running joke. Am I wrong? Is she still sending your weird and wacky emails? Do you know why she can be bothered investing so much of her time and energy on you?

  19. Betty has too much time on her hands, maybe she should get a different hobby other than harassing people!

  21. Re the salmon. The "secret sauce" is: smear some mayo (I'm a Miracle Whip girl) on the salmon, then sprinkle on some grated parmesan. Bake at 325-350 degrees until done. Wonderful.

  22. You crack me up:

" Feel free to drop me your real name and mailing address so I can send you a Christmas card/restraining order." and " I am on the UNOS waiting list for a kidney at Indiana Univeristy Transplant Center. You have my permission to call them to confirm, but please know that they will ask you if you are a donor and that might be a little awkward for you, Dearie."

    From me:

    Betty, get a life (Dearie)!

  23. Betty does not realize that the malice she harbors is self-destructive and poof! there she goes. Please don't validate her by mentioning her or allow her venom to cause you to justify yourself...She personifies mediocrity...that is all she has offer... keep this space healthy with your mindset and spare us her meanness.....OK, Friends, back to enjoying
    our Coni......

  24. Your response to Betty was brilliant. No histrionics. No drama. Just the truth. Your truth. If you believe that people can change, as I do, you just gave this woman an exceptionally gentle nudge in the right direction. That sound you hear is applause. Have a glorious day, wise lady.

  25. So happy to hear from you!! Please block Betty!! She is not worth your time and energy. I went to Starbucks recently with my daughter and we had Medicine Ball tea; it is absolutely delicious if you are a tea drinker at all. It has lemonade, honey and a few kinds of tea in it and I loved it. Your nails are beautiful and thanks for sharing the pictures. Hang in there; hugs for you..............

  27. I hope nasty Betty goes away. If she doesn't you can block her. You have enough to do keeping Buzzy happy and yourself reasonably well without having to deal with trolls like her. Bless you, Coni.

  28. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your posts, and look forward to your updates about your life and your stitching! You have a wonderful positive attitude even through a lot of very difficult situations;I think of you often & include you in my prayers. I agree with others about simply blocking Betty; there's no need to address such meanness. Take care! (P.S. I also love your hair!)

  31. Coni,

I am late in putting my two cents in, but I really hope you block Betty. Life is hard enough without having to put up with people like her. I adore your blog, and love your writing and stitching. If I spent more time stitching rather than reading, I'd actually get some stitching done myself! LOL Take care of yourself, and very Merry Christmas filled with all the Starbucks you can handle!
    Hugs and Love,
    Jen
