IN WHICH WE DECIDE TO JUST QUIT ON A FUTZINGDAY...

I woke up at 6:00 this morning with a migraine and the stomach flu.

(Pause for disbelief.)

( But not sympathy...I got plenty of that this week and am uncomfortable with how much oxygen I've already sucked out of the room.)

The first several hours were pretty rough, and I spent more time on the bathroom floor than I would have liked, but I am now freshly showered and in the Happy Chair with my new blanket, stitching, and diet 7up for company. I called my d-nurse this morning to ask her what I should do about treatment today, and she wholeheartedly agreed that hooking me up to the machine while I am under the weather would just not be very much fun for anybody.

So here I am.

Tomorrow will be another free day, aside from a Dr. Melfi appointment. I am determined to go to the movie theater to see a movie in the early afternoon and then out for a simple light dinner. I told Magoo that we seem to be in a very bad rut now that golfing is kaput for the year, and if I'm not careful I'm going to revert to my old hermit spinster who doesn't leave the house for eight years ways.

Besides, I would really love to see a movie in a theater, since I haven't done so in what feels like forever, and there are several that sound good...Creed II, The Greenbook, A Star Is Born, The Favourite, Bohemian Rhapsody...and let's not forget...Miss Mary Poppins Her Very Self coming on the 19th!

Other than that, I don't have anything new to report other than a big fat THANK YOU to all you Dearies who reassure me that it's OK to just be...me. When I go to the chair on Friday I am going to take my stitching and lap stand with impunity, and the next time I feel all squirrely about something I'll channel you voice as my inner and just get on with it.

Now for some stitching and 7up. Just what the doctor ordered!

How is your Futzingday? Please tell me that you are warm and safe and dry and that your needles are flying! Come tell me all about it!

  2. I'm glad your flu is over, mine is dragging on and on. Took me close to 4 days before I chose something very neutral to try. THe mere smell was enough to kill any ideas of eating. Got my hubby to get Powerade (no sugar), that helped a lot. Now if I can only stay awake for a whole day, that would be good.

    1. Never fear, dear Megan! The old one is still in use...this was just an added little bonus, since I love Peanuts so much!

  6. I saw Bohemian Rhapsody with a friend and we both loved it! If you like Queen at all, this is a movie you'll probably enjoy, even if it starts off a bit awkwardly and kind of slow. It picks up fast and the ending is amazing. My friend, who loves movies the way I love books, also saw A Star is Born and said it was really good. Whichever movie you guys go to see, I hope you love it! Seeing something in theater is always a fun escape :)
