BIZZY, BIZZY, BIZZY...THE SATURDAY EDITION

As soon as my second cup of damn good is dispatched, I need to get to it. I have a long list of things that I'd like to finish this weekend...both fun (stitchy-related)...and not so fun (housecleaning). somewhere in there I also want to bake the darn Greek cookies.

(Gird your loins, Dearies!)

Magoo has announced that he will be watching the Army/Navy game with impunity, which makes me very happy. This means that I can futz around like a portly Donna Reed and he can have some peace and quiet without me chattering at him like a circus monkey.

Speaking of...

Did you see that Erin Morgenstern (author of The Night Circus) has a new novel coming out next year? I look forward to it, for sure, and am determined to up my reading game. I am thinking about making my way through the Pulitzer Prize winners (in fiction), since I watched a documentary about the prize and realized that there are quite a few major books I haven't read. My reading life in general has been very very quiet for almost a year now.

Time to remedy that.

But first, I need to make to through a Saturday. About another hour or so of hangover, and then all should be right with the world.

What's on your list today? Hopefully it will be more fun than not and you can snuggle into your very own Happy Chair and enjoy it!

  1. So happy to hear about Erin Morgenstern's new book coming out...thanks for the heads-up! I still think about "The Night Circus" even tho I read it several years ago. I'm always thinking of ways to turn it into a movie. Fingers crossed we hear about that next!

  3. I'm a nobody - I've never heard of Erin Morgenstern, but will seek her Night Circus out at my local library.

  4. Well, Coni, since you are always asking my Saturday was filled with doing all kinds of Christmas-y things like finishing Christmas cards with my Magoo, making my famous Super Deliciously Decadent Bourbon Cherry Chocolate Sauce (for gifts), doing some bujo art journaling, and , yes, some house cleaning and laundry - all the while listening to our 431 song Christmas carol playlist. I'm in heaven! More so because I'm down here in Asheville, NC where we apparently are experiencing a BIG WEATHER EVENT. Big enough to draw Jim Cantore down here. (I had never heard of him until my co-worker picked up her cell phone the other day at work and shrieked, "JIM CANTORE IS COMING TO ASHEVILLE!!") In any case, I will be able to continue my Christmas-y fun for the foreseeable future due to the approximately 15 inches of snow that will keep me from setting foot outside. Lovely. I hope the rest of your weekend will be as fun and cozy as (hopefully) mine will be. (Hoping for no power outages.) :)

  5. I look for book recommendations, thanks, will check out The Night Circus. On Flosstube, Anne P just posted a video of her 2019 GoodReads list. She also goes by littlebirdstitcher on Instagram. I love her videos, if you aren't already watching, you might take a look. Happy Sunday!

  7. Coni, hoping you are ok... Unless something is wrong with my tablet and I'm just not getting updates? Just post a quick "Hello!" and I will be reassured. Blessings to you.

  8. Well, apparently there is something wrong with my tablet thing because you have been posting all along and for some reason my tablet wasn't "refreshing" to the most recent blog post. Soooooo thankful you are alive and well, Coni. Now I'm all caught up to December 19th!
