OK...show of hands here in the US: Who else got up at 4am to have tea and Tastycakes while watching the wedding coverage?

  3. I did, indeed watch the whole thing. Got up at 3am here in CA and drank tea and ate scones. Lovely, just lovely.

  4. Luckily, the UK is just one hour behind us now they're on Summer Time, so we watched happily at lunch time, except I'd baked wholewheat scones with raspberry jam and cream, so who needed lunch? It was certainly well worth watching; one of our local TV news anchors talked about St George's Cathedral instead of Chapel, and you can see why she got it wrong. What a magnificent setting!

  5. I started watching at 6 AM, but I had the festivites taped. One advantage to that was fast forwarding the commercials or any boring pre-wedding celebrity arrivals. :)

  6. I did! Got up at 5am and watched every second of it and loved it. Didn't even stitch during the comercials. Had a bagel and coffee.

  7. Recorded it and started watching at 9 -- with a few sniffles and tears, plus giggles at the reactions to the sermon!

  8. Lucky for us in Australia it was perfect Saturday night viewing beginning at 7pm. I couldn't stitch though. Too much to look at.

  14. I watched it live on YouTube. Alternated between the Today Show and the Royal Channel. Favorites: Classic wedding dress; Prince Charles escorted the bride; sermon by the Chicago pastor; choir singing “Stand by Me.

  15. Guess I'm the odd woman out. I did not get up early, did not tape it (not having cable made that difficult to do anyway!) and have not sought coverage. Part of the reason was my granddaughter's graduation this morning, a bead class this afternoon and hours of prep work for tomorrow's graduation party this evening. I'm sure I'll catch snippets through the week, but won't be seeking them out much. Royal weddings are fun, but this one is just at an inconvenient time.

  20. Programmed it on local PBS (as I watched) and found the recording filled with early morning children's shows. The station let us down... heard there was a similar mishap in transmission in London.. Was able to record it later on another channel. This RW was such a beautiful
happening and the love between Harry and Meghan was so
transparent and focused. She looked exquisite.... May
    the life together be blessed.

  21. I watched and enjoyed, but was bothered by the announcers' frequent references to a fairy tale. The last royal wedding they applied that term to so frequently was much less than a fairy tale ending. Hoping that both her sons have learned and will do better.

  23. Nope. This is why God invented DVRs. I watched it later (with tea, of course. Unfortunately, no scones on hand.)

  24. i was home from the Ten Tenors performance just in time to see the mother of the bride arrive and it was all go. great broadcast here in New Zealand as no ad breaks until after 1am so made it difficult to make the tea.
I am pleased that you are getting some e-word time as it does lift the spirit. keeping you always in my thoughts.
