AND THEN ON MAY 14TH WE CAUGHT THE PLAGUE...

Oh, fer cryin' out loud....

I have either caught a cold, have the flu, or am suffering from the worst seasonal allergy session known to man (or spinster). I am feverish, sound like a fog horn, and am coughing up a lung every five minutes.

And I'm at dialysis.

With a surgical mask on.

Which is making me feel claustrophobic and like Darth Vader all at the same time.

Oey. It's just not easy being me today.

Mister Spinster made it home from New Jersey...all safe and sound and laden with treats. We now have Atlantic City Italian bread in the freezer, Taylor pork roll in the fridge, and James salt water taffy in the jar. He also brought home a tomato pie and subs from the White House...but those were gone quickly. He was thrilled to be home and very happy with some things I had accomplished around CS2 to make it more homey for us both.  I hung some plants on the balcony and cleared out the dresser and closet better for his things and hung some of my stitching.

(Photos to follow).

What I did NOT do was stitch yesterday, but I have a special dispensation from the Stitchy Vatican for being sick. Hopefully, if things continue here smoothly today, I will feel like doing so when I get home.

So that's the report for a stormy Monday here in Hoosierville. I hope that (if applicable), you had a good Mother's Day, and that your week is starting off on a wonderfully swell note!

  1. So sorry to hear you're sick!
Glad that JB got home safely from my home state -- but trying to imagine him bringing all that food onto the airplane! 0:=

  2. I think custom cross stitch masks will be in order to add some charm and laughs. You can pick out lipstick colored flosses to use!

  4. Being a former NJite, JB's transported feast had me drooling. This, too, shall be deducted from your time in Paradise..LOL So sorry you are under the weather...the
pollen in so many areas has been formidable. JB can
confirm how bad it has been there. Wishing you speedy recovery and easy going today.

  5. Sorry about giving you my cold bug over the computer! But look out - today I work up with pink eye (at least it matches the quilt I'm working on). Soo I've managed to expose hubby, 6 children and 5 grandkids. I told them it's the mothers day gift that keeps on giving!

  6. Hope you are feeling better very soon. I know, being a NJ transplant to the flat land of corn and soybeans, aka, Central Illinois, when we return to NJ it means pork roll, Tastykakes, and Ellios frozen pizza, which by the way, is the worst pizza on the planet, but my boys loved it as children, so a cooler stuffed to the gills! Don't miss NJ, but miss the food for sure!

    1. Capecodgirl565, I love Ellio's frozen pizza, too, and agree it is the worst in the world, but I love it!

    2. Almost forgot about the Tastykakes! Although they're not as good, IMHO, since the new company took over. JB forgot the Butterscotch Krimpets, though!

  12. Sick and dialysis - sounds like a musermise combination to me. Methinks no stitching will happen today. Insert sad face.
