EAT...SLEEP...DIALYIZE...REPEAT

Oey...I am in a rut of eating all the things, sleeping too much, and feeling like my heiney is sewn to the dialysis chair.  The good news is that my appetite has come roaring back after a year's hiatus.  The bad news is that my appetite has come roaring back after a year's hiatus.

My sessions have been a bit problematic.  Buzzy is deep in my arm, and it seems that the techs are having a hard time getting both needles positioned just right. Today was about an eight out of ten on the pain scale no matter what we did, but I was able to gut it out and get a full session in.

(I'd love to tell you that it was because I was brave, but Sir Elton and Miss Caroline from Off The Grid were right there to pull me through, and the promise of chicken wings at the Hooters put me over the top.)

No stitching to report, I'm afraid.  Despite my very best plans to have stitchy days on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and over the weekend, I have just not felt well enough to do so.  Tomorrow, though, is another day, so there is hope.

I'll leave you with a picture of me and my Jersey Boy at a Notre Dame hockey game a few weeks ago. He looks handsome....I look more than a little crazy.

(In my defense, our seats were about a thousand feet up in the air and separated from a plunge to certain death by nothing but a piece of clear glass.

Here's the view from the seat...see what I mean?

Thanks for hanging in there with me, Dearies. I promise that The Chicken Sisters, counted canvas work, and interesting things will make a return to this here blog eventually. For now, please take care and come tell me all about it.

  3. Oh you guys are so cute together!! So glad you are getting out and doing things together! I kind-of know the pain in finding all the veins...I had a PICC line put in last Thursday and whilst the tech was digging around for the vein and then trying to shove a wire in...she actually had the nerve to tell me it would go better if I'd just relax...🤤seriously?..that's when the tears started...Oh I have stories...
So happy you have Jersey Boy to keep track of you these days...I don't know what I would do without my "Utah Boy"💕💕💕

  4. What a handsome couple....your picture belies what you
are going through, pretty lady. Sorry about the rough going, but, bless you, your humor prevails, "a plunge
to certain death".... Hoping before long you will be back to the needle (the stitching kind) and showing us
your latest. Chin up...you are a winner.

  5. Does Buzzy need to be "readjusted"? I still have no clue how all that works. I'd rather you didn't have to go through this at all, but I hoped it would have settled into an easier process by now.

  6. Delighted to see you and JB looking so couple-ish together!

So I had to look up Off the Grid and was happy to see Miss Caroline is a fellow Canadian.

Sorry to hear about the dialysis difficulties, but as the Brits and the chickens would say, Keep your pecker up!

  10. Looking good there, Ms. Rich and Rich! Nice and high means warmer at a hockey game?? Being out and about is always a fun evening. Hope things start to get easier with the "time in the chair" events. I am not good (as in passing out) bad with the flu shot so I can only say how brave I think you are! Time to shovel today's latest gift from old Mother Nature! Happy today!

  18. Love the pic of you and your fella! You make a truly lovely couple! 💕
I hope dialysis gets easier for you. As I have mentioned, my brother goes, and thankfully, he has had an easier time of it. Sending prayers and good wishes that the pain and difficulties you are experiencing will work themselves out, or that someone will figure out what is happening that makes you so uncomfortable.
Feel better...happy JB is there to help you along the way!
