ICEPACKS AND POINTSETTIAS AND HOUSEWIVES...OH MY

I'm still a bit worse for wear today...lots of bruising and swelling and pain.

(And that's just my stitching!)

Buzzy is just...forlorn.  I don't know if he's acting out, or perhaps just feeling his oats, but he's causing me to worry.  I will go back to the doc this afternoon if he doesn't calm down, but for now he's getting an ice pack and Tylenol.

The Pointsettia ornament and I are equally a mess, since I am apparently incapable of rotating a piece in my head to accomodate the chart.  The first petal surround went in well enough, but the second is somehow...off:
Methinks this will go into time out until Miss Charlene can whisper it and show me what I'm doing wrong.

In the meantime, I am hankering for some cross stitch, so as soon as Buzzy is done with his ice pack I might head into the cube room studio to see if I can find something fun and festive.  I would love to go over to House of Stitches, but alas, I might want to save that for when I am a bit more up to snuff.

It's a beautiful day here in Hoosierville...cool, but sunny.  If I can, I am going to attempt a little walk with Rich when he comes home from work.  He has a very long stride and I usually have to huff and puff to keep up with him, but maybe I can convince him to slow it down a bit for his portly little spinster.

That's it for Futzingday, Dearies.  I'm catching up on all of the Housewives and other Bravo shows I've taped.  I also noticed that I am three weeks behind on Outlander, so I better hop to it!

Hope your day is swell and that you'll come tell me all about it!

  1. Hope Buzzy calms down for you. When I walk with my husband I take 4 steps to his two just keep with him. Needless to say I'm huffing and puffing too!

  2. I have really bad feet, so sometimes I have trouble keeping up with hubby...it`s an excuse to hold his hand, so I can just tug so he will slow down. Happy stitchy hunting in your room of happiness! Hope Buzzy behaves...xo Mj

  3. Will keep you and Buzzy in prayer! Hoping he has calmed down by now. Annndd . . . what is that gorgeous piece that is in the upper left of the picture (black background, has holly and what looks like a red ornament surrounded by gold frilly things)? P.S. I too am on a 4 (mine) to 2 (his) step ratio when walking with my husband. Wonky ankle makes me less able to speed up, so I go fast as I can, he slows down, and we meet somewhere in the middle. You and Rich will also find your middle!

  4. When I was healthy enough to hike I often had the same problem with my husband. The solution: have him wear a backpack with all the supplies you could ever need (water, full five course meal, hand lotion, stitching, teddy bear, etc)...the extra weight will slow him down. When I got even slower I had him carry a lawn chair for me, and then added a lawn chair for him too (on top of the backpack). As I kept getting sicker I resorted to throwing extra rocks in his backpack on top of all the other equipment he carried...eventually the weight did slow him down and gave him a good workout, while I carried nothing but myself. Finally I just had him drop me off at a park bench with my stitching...then he'd drive back and hike the trail up to me. Such is life when you're disabled young. A good man though, will stick with you through it all. :)

  6. I hope Buzzy is back in line soon. Don't worry about your poinsettia. Put it down for awhile and when you come back to it, help or no, it may work just fine. Hope you got your walk in, and I can't wait to see what you picked to stitch that's festive

  11. Some good suggestions for accommodating walking speeds. Why don't you let Rich go for most of hos exercise first then he can circle back to the apartment and pick you up. It will be his "cool down" portion, so he can walk more slowly, while you walk at your own pace. Happy walking!
