IN WHICH POPPERS COMES BACK OUT TO PLAY
It was almost 9pm before I put needle in hand last night. I spent the better part of the day looking at my WIPs wondering what would blow my skirt up, and nothing really did.
Poppers did the trick, though, so I think I might stick with it until completed. Only six rows to go, after all!
The only newspaper delivery I got on time consistently was the Wall Street Journal. For the Sunday NYT I used to pick one up at the local news stand. The Times is a lost cause, Coni.
This is such a gorgeous piece and you are such an accomplished stitcher. It would add beautiful color framed and hung in a room that needs it. :D Love, hugs & prayers, Cathryn ♥
Poppers is fantastic! ⚘ I think it may ve time to either let the NYT go or suck it up that a trip to Starbucks is in the works on Sunday. Not an entirely bad thing. ☺🤗😇
I feel the NYT has maybe outworn any leeway or patience limit that a normal person would be willing to extend. I second the idea that a Sunday Starbucks tradition would be a good idea.
I have to confess that I've never done anything but counted cross stitch, but I watch what you do and wish I could be brave enough to branch out to, what is it called? Counted canvas? I love Poppers!
The end is in sight, cheering you on for a speedy finish. Well done. That piece is so lovely and ful of energy, I would place the finished Pops somewhere that I could see it constantly, it would spark up any area.
Love the Poppers! What a beautiful fun piece.... makes one feel good just looking at it! I totally agree with everyone....I think that a weekly visit to Starbucks on Sundays for the NYT & whatever special treat strikes your fancy! Prayers & good thoughts. ❤️ ☕️ 🗞
Coni, the NYT thing happened to me several weeks in a row and I discovered that the apartment upstairs was getting it due to a numbers mix-up. Keep bugging the paper, they can get it right -- eventually. Regards, Charlotte
Keep bugging the Times, if you don't call them every week it doesn't come, if/when you truly get fed up and cancel, they may not refund those weeks. Also, I know most of us are so used to complaining via email or phone, an old fashioned letter to the CEO (or whichever executive is in charge of home delivery) might catch more attention.
Now to important business - Poppers. I like it - I love the colors, and I think the variety of stitches might keep my attention. Oh dear, it sounds like it might have made my needlework pattern wish list. All this brings me to my question about your WIPs - why do you have so many? I hope that doesn't sound judgmental - truly I'm only curious. For me, cross stitch is a long slog - I get bored with doing little Xs, no matter how many color changes. Or I become unhappy with the quality of my work. Or I start a huge project and it seems like so little progress is being made. Or...
Poppers looks like such a fun stitch! And I am thinking your idea of getting a job delivering the papers might be the only way you will get one delivered.
I hope you are getting a refund from the NYT!
ReplyDeleteLove Poppers - on my wish list :)
Poppers is looking good, Coni. Sorry you didn't receive the NYT today; they need to get their act together.

ReplyDeleteAnd now, Game of Thrones withdrawal commences...I really thought she would have Jaime killed. Really.
