My new kitchen is approximately 1/5 the size of my current one, so there has been a fair amount of planning to determine exactly what will go and what will stay. I carefully mapped out each cupboard and think I've got it whittled down sufficiently, but before I actually start packing I ran out to pick up a few odds and ends that I figured would come in handy.
It was young couple in love day at the Hoosierville BB&B, and I had such a ball watching as the bride-to-be flitted about chattering on and on about pepper grinders and placemats while her intended held the ray gun thingie looking like he would rather be getting a prostate exam.
Being a spinster means that I never got to do that whole "setting up house" thing, and I have to say, sometimes I feel a little sad about that. I think I would have really enjoyed having a china pattern or flatware set to contemplate. I thought I would do that when I built this house, but Dad got sick and then I got sick and then...it just never quite happened.
Well, I suppose that some day I might drag some poor soul around the BB&B, but in the meantime there are other things to occupy me. I feel pretty good that I will be able to continue to channel my inner Ina...it just might take a minute to recombonulate myself in the new space.
Tomorrow is kitchen packing day, and then it's on to the linen closet, hall closet, and finally...bedroom closet and bathroom. I will be completely finished packing by Friday so that I can go to Library Guild on Saturday and rest and then do one last run through before the moving van gets here the following week.
I can't believe it's almost here!
