ME AND MY BIG MOUTH...

All week long I've been telling anybody who asks (and even those who didn't ask) that the recovery from my surgery has gone really well and that I haven't even needed any Tylenol.  As a matter of fact, I think that my exact words were something along the lines of "I do better with pain than I do with pain meds" and I crowed about the fact that I'm such a good patient...blah blah blah.

Well, last night and today the universe is smiting me.

In spades.

That'll teach me to get cocky.  You would think that I would know by now o stay shy and humble and cautious, but noooooo.  I got all puffed up with pride that I'm such a freaking trooper, and now I'm a sniveling, pathetic mess.

Silly, silly spinster.

So today I'm going to take some Tylenol and sit in the Happy Chair and boo hoo for a bit, and then we'll get back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Hope your Sunday is less...painful, and that your needles are flying!

  1. You will make it!! You know what they say: One step forwrd and two steps back. I disagree. I think it is two steps forward and one step back. Hang in there. We are all in your corner!!

  3. Use that Tylenol! Severe acute pain can interfere with the healing process, so you're not doing yourself any favors by suffering unnecessarily. And what better way to spend a lazy Sunday.

  9. Being an Englishwoman living in France, I've never encountered Tylenol but I assume it's a painkiller. Stop trying to be a heroine and knock it back, if it helps at all (strictly according to instructions of course!) You shouldn't have to suffer! Big hugs xx

  12. Take the Tylenol and keep taking it until you're sure younwon't need it any more. I have learned that there is something to the saying that you have to stay ahead of the pain. Healing happens faster when you aren't in pain. Your body has suffered a trauma, as any surgery is, and you need to give it all the help to recover that you can.

  13. Keep those pain meds coming along my friend. As you do more and move more you are going to need them.

  14. I remember when I was in labor with my first child and I told the nurse that I didn't want any pain meds and the nurse told me that I didn't have to be a superhero today and to take the meds. I did and they were wonderful :) Hope you are feeling better today! xo

  15. You will move ahead of the pain if you allow yourself a
regulated dose of the Tylenol. Pain can be so debilitating and forestalls the healing process... remove
as many obstacles as you can... and pamper yourself...
