Have you seen Flosstube yet? Flosstube is a "channel" on the YouTube that is all about this thing of ours! I didn't know anything about it until I happened to catch up on Miss Danielle's blog (Stitcherista), and she provided a link to her videos. And then! I found Miss Vonna Her Very Self (The Twisted Stitcher) and her videos and I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
I have followed...er, um...stalked Danielle and Vonna and all the rest of you via blog for quite a while now, but watching you all come to life on Flosstube is a whole other experience. I felt like I was sitting right there with the girls...ooohing and aaahing over their stitchy spaces, their finishes, their WIP's...all of it.
So..fair warning that it is very addictive...head over to YouTube and enter Flosstube in the search function, and then sit back and be prepared to enjoy the next 26 or 27 hours of your life!
I managed to get a lovely haircut and lose half my body weight in the process. Well, maybe not HALF, exactly, but my head sure does feel lighter. My hair had gotten totally out of control and was halfway down my back. Now, I'm sporting a faux bob type thing that is much lighter, cooler, and more age appropriate.
(Stewey wholeheartedly approved and immediately sent Miss Brandi a thank you note.)
And then, just to see if I really could start to resemble half a human again, I got my brows done too! This is probably where all of the weight came from, to be honest, since I heard the technician fire up the weed whacker before giving them a go.
(And yes...now I can actually see better!)
Here's the latest progress on Olympic Good Stuff. I enjoyed several hours of stitching yesterday after getting beautified and after I had McNuggets for dinner.
(They were absolutely delicious, by the way, which means I am going to want to eat them again in about ten minutes. I was prepared for disaster but was met with crispy excellence instead, damnit.)
(And yes...I ate the damn french fries too because I saw that they do not contain trans fat, which in my book makes them a health food.)
Your center block is looking good! I haven't ventured over to Flosstube yet.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love you! You are so funny, & your stitching is absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the FlossTube clarification. I have heard of it, but I am directionally challenged in every aspect. Thanks to you I know exactly how to find it.
ReplyDeleteWhat, no picture of the new do? I agree, FlossTube is addictive. Isn't Vonna sweet?
ReplyDeleteI'm worried that if I head over to FlossTube, I'm going to add too much to my plate--first with the watching and then with making my own. :(
ReplyDeleteRothflm*o. Yes, photo of the new do and whatever is left of your eyebrows, please. And thank you for the FlossTube information. Sounds like between Pokémon Go, Facebook, needlepoint and FlossTube I am about to timesuck my way into terrible personal hygiene and bad sleep patterns. Thanks again......but in all seriousness, I love the start of the Olympic needlework. Just stunningly crisp and dynamic. Lots of hugs to Stewey and Bosco (hope his tummy is better).
ReplyDeleteA new "do" is always great. I got my brows done yesterday too. Great progress on your stitching. FlossTube is great, I've watching some of the tutorials on evenweave stitching and do those Mill Hill kits. Good to know that McD's advertising money was not wasted. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeward people! I've spent the best part of 3 days on Flosstube! My husband thinks i'm having an on-line affair. I love it and can put it on full-screen and sit and stitch and it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteConi: I had to crash read several entries due to wilderness issues. Oh well. Just wanted to say turkeys eat the weeds in your yard. They are good guys. Eating weeds is great. Oh yeah, so are chicken mcnuggets I guess.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of FlossTube too. It's like having friends over without having to tidy up first!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, as always. However, I have spent the entire day on Flosstube with Vonna and company. You have introduced me to another obsession!!
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to FlossTube also thanks to a certain Vonna who mentioned it one day. And, since I recently retired after working 39 years, guess what I do all day? It ain't cleaning or laundry!
ReplyDeleteOh Coni, your blog means so much to me. Just got back from a hospital visit and you have cheered me up immensely. Still sending prayers. -Cathryn
ReplyDeleteYou are such a delight! Love your posts! Thanks for the info on floss tube, I'm afraid to start watching it. Hope your puppies are well. Keep stichin'.
ReplyDeleteI am visiting from Edgar's blog....Now I am running to check out Flosstube! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI also got the tresses sheared yesterday and feel so renewed.. amazing how it can transform the day. I wager you are ready to meet the world head on.... Chuckled at your eyebrow-plucking episode... We all want to see evidence of the whole restoration. Continued prayers for you, Stewey and Bosco. The Olympic project is looking like another winner.....
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is beautiful!! And yes that totally makes them a health food :)
