Nora Ephron, one of my personal heroes, passed away yesterday.
Methinks it might be a good idea to climb into the Happy Chair with all of her movies on the thingie....
See you tomorrow.
Here's the Imdb filmography for Ms. E:
1973 Adam's Rib (TV series)
–
For Richer, for Poorer
(1973)
(story)
She had such a great perspective on so many things--
ReplyDeleteGoing to go home and watch a few of her movies too.....You've got Mail is one of my favorites...what are her other movies?
ReplyDeletewhen Sally met Harry was my favorite. Hot here in Tucson means indoor activities...stitching and watching movies. Maybe I can find one of hers on Netflix and revisit. Keep cool.

Truly sad to read of her passing. Had been a fan since reading Heartburn years ago. Watched "When Harry Met Sally every New Year's Eve. Loved "Silkwood", and all the rest. A movie marathon is definitely in order.
ReplyDeleteSo sad. I've seen half of her movies. I love My Blue Heaven.
ReplyDeleteDid you see her 1996 commencement address at Wellesley (online)? Inspiring.
I saw the news about her as well and am so sad. I didn't even realise she was that old! Not that her age is old by any means, but I really thought she was about 20 years younger. She truly was an icon. I have always loved "When Harry Met Sally..." but my fave by far is "You've Got Mail".
ReplyDeleteConi, I couldn't agree more. She was a truly wonderful woman.
ReplyDeleteOne of the interviews for her book, about having "holes in her head" made me laugh and every time I comb my hair I think of the holes. I really enjoyed her, a good light has gone. She will be missed. I could identify with her, being closer to her age and divorced

What a talented woman; just think of the pleasurable hours she provided to all of those who saw her films, read her works, etc. I didn't realize that she wrote Silkwood (Karen Slikwood was a high school friend of my sister). Nora Ephron will be truly missed.
