I am excited about it - here in Australia it has significance for us as Armistice Day as it used to be called - to commemorate the end of WWI at the 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month. Now, we call it Remembrance Day and it is seen as being really special this year - the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of the 11th year of new millennium. Very special indeed!
It was weird - last fall I kept seeing repeating numbers and got all freaked out about them. Then Dad died and we were sent to room 1111 to wait for news. Now, when I see repeating numbers I just think of him.
As I have the day off, I plan on cashing in my aluminum recycling and then going to Hancock fabrics, to hit their sale.... then, stitchy stitchy stitchy the rest of the day!
I believe there are three such this year as in 1/11/11, 11/1/11 and 11/11/11. I have a daughter who obsesses over such things. There were five Sundays, Saturdays and Mondays in October which happens every 850 years or some such. She times like 5:55 and many other things like that.
Thankfully the full moon is today, not tomorrow, or maybe I would be a bit worried! I'm sure the Las Vegas wedding chapel's are going to be super busy tomorrow!
The one time I was worried about a date was when my youngest went on his middle-school Washington DC trip and was flying there on 04-04-04. 9/11 was still pretty fresh in everyone's memory and I was a nervous wreck until I knew the plane had landed safely.
my birthday last year was 10-10-10 and I was 55 (5+5=10!). I like these kind of things and do think it's special as I remember learning in school about the end of WWI and the signifigance of it all. Too bad they thought it would be 'the war to end all wars' :(
Like Kaye said - not worried about the day, as it was more a special commemorative day here. I see significance in many sets of numbers and combinations of numbers, but don't tend to stress about what might happen - just endure or celebrate what does! (mind you, stitching helps whatever date it is!)
I didn't think much about it until this evening when I drove to get gas and came upon 3 car accidents, all within a block of each other! Forgot to buy lottery tickets though!
I'm not going to start worrying until it hits 13-13-13. LOL :)

ReplyDeletePlus, it's my niece's birthday (#12 for her).
Ummm....no ....why? Should I be? I was not worried on 10-10-10 either...

ReplyDeleteIt's just a number...
I did freak out a little when I woke up this morning, but got past it quickly. The date I was more worried about was 6-6-06.
