The almost true exploits of an intrepid spinster and her stitching...and all of the things that make up her crazy, happy, quiet little life.

OH, BEAUTY!
My brain clicked from canvas work to cross stitch sometime on Friday afternoon. This seems to happen every year at about this time. Strange, huh? Never fear, though. The canvas work and needlepoint pieces that I've been stitching are still safe and sound on the dining room table, so they can come out to play in a moment's notice.
This is Rosewood Manor's Spring Quaker. Isn't she lovely? The linen is a Picture This Plus color called Valor, and in real life it is quite pretty. Very green, but softly so.
Cold, dreary, and miserable day here in Hoosierville. Stewey is curled up on his perch, and I'm curled up in the Happy Chair with laundry sploshing away and a Jeffrey Dean Morgan movie on the TeeVee.
How's your Monday going?

Oohhh Coni that is looking very pretty on that green fabric! I am not usually a huge Quaker fan, but that is a nice one!!
ReplyDeleteLucky you are able to curl up ... I had to go to work today and it is horrible out (Cleveland Ohio area).
Take care and give Stewey a pet from me!
I really love PTP fabric and the green looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy Monday is going well. It's a holiday for me and I'm home getting ready for a retreat next weekend. Windows open and a nice breeze is coming through. It's a good day for me and I hope you have one too!

ReplyDeleteI just saw this pattern last week. I generally don't do things like this but the colors were gorgeous and I was VERY tempted. Then I happened to the linen area of that shop and found Valor. The color was yummy. Temptation won when it came to the linen.
ReplyDeleteSo, I will be watching you stitch this beauty!
Welcome back to the world of cross stitch, Coni :-) Your WIP is looking great and I love the fabric.
ReplyDeleteI am about to do what you are doing... curl up in my favorite corner of the sofa with my stitching and a good movie. So far so good...
Gorgeous Coni...that green fabric is so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteKisses to Stewey
I love these Quaker designs! Are you using Valdani threads for this one too?
ReplyDeleteWe're having the same dreary weather here in MI. A perch-worthy day if ever there was one!
You keep doing this to me....almost everytime you start one of these Quakers, they start to SCREAM "BUY ME, STITCH ME!!!"
ReplyDeleteThis is another gorgeous beginning!
I love your Spring quaker! I started the same one, but I started at the top left. I am a very slow stitcher, so I figure this one will probably take me 70 to 80 years....;0}
ReplyDeleteLove on Stewey for me!

I love Quakers and this one's a beauty. The threads look lovely on that gorgeous linen.
ReplyDeleteI'm stitching a BBD sampler and watching Columbo on Netflix. Suzanne Pleshette just likened Detective Columbo to an unmade bed!
It's freezing here in New England but at least the sun is out.
Have a good day!
What a lovely new start! Sounds like a perfect day for some stitching!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
Miss Coni I must tell you that I love that green fabric! And the colours of Spring Quaker look stunning on it!
ReplyDeleteOh Coni, that is so pretty! I love the colors in the Quaker.
ReplyDeleteThe best part about my Monday is that it's almost over...one day closer to the weekend!
What a beautiful new piece! I love the colours.
ReplyDeleteMy Monday is fine. I cleaned the house and plan an evening of stitchiness!
Pretty pretty pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Spring Quaker is very pretty, especially on that fabric! Today started out warm and then we had rain storms, and now it is cold. I got to spend the day with my 3 yo DGD since her school was off but her mama wasn't. Too much fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy Monday is over and included stitching as always. Glad yours included this LOVELY Rosewood Manor piece. Will be watching for updates. It is so pretty. :) Cathryn
ReplyDeleteConnie! I just started Spring Quaker too :) I fell I love with it the moment I saw it. I started at the top....maybe we'll meet in the middle...
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty flowers - that's a quaker design I could get into!

I'm working on this piece too! I did change the fabric and of course can't think of the name of it when I need to, like now!, but it is PTP 32 count. I'm really enjoying it. Are you using the Valdani threads?
