Daisy Chain
Laura J. Perin
18 ct. mono canvas in eggshell
Watercolours, DMC #5 perle cotton, YLI ribbon floss

Woo Hoo! I finished Daisy Chain last evening and have been sitting the Happy Chair loving it ever since. I really enjoyed every stitch of this one and am now in hard-line concentration mode working on how I would like to finish-finish this one.

I'm thinking....purse.

How 'bout you?

Nothing else to report today. We're HOT HOT HOT here in Hoosierville, so methinks Stewey and I might just stay inside the A/C and watch the TeeVee.

  1. Wow, this is so pretty. I just love LJP's designs. I am on the home stretch of her lovely sunflower picture from Needlepoint Now Magazine. I got into needlepoint because of you and LJP. Thanks for the new obsession. :)

  3. Lovely - colours and design.

Purse would be perfect then you could use it often.

  5. Fantastic finish! Congrats!

Not a fan of the purse idea... I'm thinking framing or making a pillow, but whatever you do, make sure you show us!

  6. I think a purse might be cute... I can also see it as a pillow or even framed! It turned out spectacularly well!

  10. Wow, I just love the colors of this one! I think that a purse would be a wonderful finish for it - or a small pillow.

  11. Great finish Coni -love the colors and the 'happy feel' this piece has with the daisy in the center. You will not...I repeat NOT....tempt me to do any needlepoint...no sir...no way..no how...I'm up to my ears in projects as it is between quilting, cross-stitching and now trying needlepunch. Not to mention I know how expensive those hand-painted canvases can be......I'm maxed out with hobbies already! Congrats on your finish!

  12. One question, have you ask Stewey if it is ok to make a purse out of it? I think he is planning on it going into his domain.....

  17. Certainly worth a standing ovation - really pretty and so summery too. Are those lots and lots of french knots I spy??? How do you get them so even??? I normally give up and use beads! How clever you are. Thank you for showing us your work.

  18. I absolutely love this piece. I think it is too nice for a purse. Might get soiled. How big is it? Could it fit on a box top?

  19. Gorgeous! I don't think I would do a bag with this as it might get pulls or snags. A box pillow would be pretty!

Stay cool -- the weather HAS to change, right, huh, ya think?

  20. This is a very pretty design, and very busy. It needs to stand on its own as a wall hanging. Put a baacking on it and hang it on a rod etc. It is way too pretty for a bag and a frame would not enhance it at all. IMHO of course.

  21. Congrats on the finish. I love this design, its delicate lacy appearance. The colours are delightful. And you've done it full justice, beautiful.

  22. This is SOOOOOOO pretty!! If you make this into a purse, you're going to have so many "groupies" following you - wanting to know at what chic boutique you found this beauty!! Such a problem to have.... :)

  23. Beautiful finish Coni!! I love it! :)

  24. This is too beautiful to be put in a purse. Maybe because I am hard on my purses, I think of it as something that gets worn out or goes out of style. This piece is so beautiful it should be viewable all or at least, a lot of the time. I vote for a pillow, framed or in the lid of a beautiful box placed on a table or dresser.

  25. It`s gorgeous Coni! I wouldn`t want to use it made into a purse...how about a work bag for a project on-the-go?

  26. Very snazzy - and it would make a good purse or bag...and I agree - to hot for my chubby fanny here in Michigan, I know you guys are about the same weather - where's the snow? You won't ever hear me complain about the cold, I promise!

  27. I think you need to stitch ANOTHER ONE and then make it into a purse.....she said with a smile.
Now wouldn't that be stunning. Love it. It is beautiful.

  29. So pretty! If I were you I'd be tempted to start another one just like this one, so it really wouldn't be "finished!"
