HO HUM DEE DUM CA NUN DRUM

If you've seen the movie "Groundhog Day", then I would bet that you are feeling much like Bill Murray's character about now. (He lives the same day over and over and over again, in case you haven't caught this one on the "25-year Old Movie Channel" on your TeeVee.)

This piece really is lovely to work on, I promise, but I am so bored with talking about it I could just...well...stop talking about it. My goodness, but these posts have become repetitive! Let's just make this easy:

I'm working on "The Riddle" and really enjoying it. Progress is very very slow, but I think I'm going to try to stick with it until completion.

There. Now you don't have to wonder about it anymore and I won't have to bore you to tears.

Stewey is ridiculously MIFFED at me today. Apparently, he has a real problem with me sharing his "incident" with you, and he felt that it was a HUGE breach of contract for me to disclose such an intimate detail of his life with my reading public. My response to this was a) I don't have a "reading public", I have stitchy friends who are nice enough to stop by my blog without alerting the authorities that I should be heavily medicated, b) Pouting causes wrinkles, and if he's going to use $400 face cream every night to retain his youthful glow, he should probably avoid it, and c) Even Charlotte York has had an accident in the potty department (even though we both positively HATE that scene in the SOTC movie).

Cold, dreary, rainy weather is keeping us inside today with some stitchy movies and a freshly laundered blanket for company. I've finally learned how to make a proper cup of tea, so I'm thinking that might be on the menu in a very short while.

I leave you with a pic of Little Lord Fauntleroy demanding some play time with a new pumpkin toy he scored after yesterday's spa session. (Please note the volume of toys in the background. I will be using it as evidence in the upcoming "Mommie is not nice to me and won't buy me any more Halloween toys" Trial.)

Damn dog.

  2. Coni - You're making such great progress on this! I hear you though on it feels like you've been working on it forever and boring us. Definitely not the case, and I love everytime you post. I feel the same way though on Ann Medd, I feel like I should stitch something just to break everyone's boredome!

And love all the Stewey toys! Your house looks like my kids have been in there with their things. They're beyond toys, but there is no less messes around to be sure.

  3. Wow! Toys, toys and more toys. I would make him promptly clean the house if he ever utters the words "I'm bored"

  4. The Riddle is coming along nicely but I'm afraid I would have chucked it in my WIP's pile long before now...LOL If a project takes longer than 5 minutes it's outta here!!

We have a toy basket for our cats but even they don't have as many as Stewey...LOL It looks more like my grandson's mountain of toys:)

  6. I'm not sure who makes more of a mess, The Fluffinator or his teenage brother & sisters. I'm thinking it's the pup. I'm glad to see he's not alone in that, Stewey looks like he does a good job of dumping his toy box out! ;)

I love your progress on The Riddle and love hearing about it, too! So keep on keepin' on. Now I am thirsty for a nice cup of tea, too.

  7. oh my....I'd better not introduce my Milo to your Stewey. Otherwise, you'd have a house full of unstuffed toys!!! Granted that Milo is a larger dog/person, but he can and has destroyed a tennis ball in less than 30 seconds.
Lovely progress on the Riddle btw!

  8. Me thinks maybe Mister Stewey should take a page from mommy and do a 'stash organizing' on his toys. Let's see - by Holiday, by texture, by squeek volume - and so on. I can just picture him with some baskets and a label machine getting things just right!

  9. Just like having a two year old! All the toys must be on the floor, scattered about. That's what toys are for.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the Riddle is looking great. I admire your sticktoitness.

  10. Stella can't believe that all she has are 3 chew toys (kong, squirrel buddy, nylabone) and ONE frickin' plushy, and a football at that. She doesn't know that I have a plush squeaky squirrel at the ready. But I see her point. ;)

  11. You and Stewey are TOO MUCH! Glad to see you got all cleaned up.
The Riddle looks fantastic...keep up the good work.

  12. My 2 turn their noses up at stuffed toys. Of course, they don't realize they're pups. I do think, however, that they would thoroughly enjoy Stewey's company. Tell Stewey that his secret (aka known as the spa "incident") is safe with me!

  13. Not bored at all, but can see how you feel. This deary weather seems like Nov. not Oct. Trying to finish a simple Halloween stitchery. Just ordered a couple of new charts well okay four. Must finish this first...yeah right!!

  14. cannot read the verse - what does the riddle say? i had to ease up on CXS because, even with Peepers, and a magnifier, the 32 count linen did me in! and i love to do the decorative stitches and use the fabulous threads neelepoint allows but i know what that over-one thread stuff takes to do, so i commend you on your sticking with it! I love how you can curl up on a rainy cold dreary day and stay inside with movies and stitching - it is the life i crave! But i love to eat so i have to go to work each day. speaking of conundrum - work or be thin. hmmmmm..... :-) You are so very lucky to be retired at such a young age and not ever have to work, other than to have to be a lady-in-waiting to Lord Fauntleroy.

  15. My Seamus has a basketful of toys but he only gets two at a time and I rotate them out. It is a win-win, he gets very excited when an old favorite shows up out of no where and I don't have to trip over 25 toys spread all over the house!

  16. The toy box looks all too familiar. Has Stewey chosen his Halloween costume yet? Or is all that dress up far beneath His Little Self?
