MONDAY MONDAY

Well, Woo Hoo Dee Do! I finished Shepherd's Bush "Shepherd's Spring" last night. I originally thought that I would get this done on Friday evening, but I was otherwise occupied (read: locked in the laundry room because SOMEBODY felt the need to have clean underpants for the weekend. Damn dog.)

I would have finished it on Saturday night, but I got sucked in to "P.S. I Love You" yet again, and God knows I couldn't waste any eyeball time on stitching when there was some Jeffrey Dean Morgan to be had.

And last night was almost a wash, because I got sucked in to "The French Lieutenant's Woman". This is a film that I had never seen before (you should know that I didn't see my first "R" rated movie until I was 17-years old), and I really liked it. What's not to like? Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons for cryin' out loud! So now I'm on a quest to watch all of those movies that prompt an "I can't believe you've never seen that before!" response from any normal adult grown-ass person with whom I happen to be in conversation.

Today I must make a very hard decision as to which project I will start next. If I was playing by the rules (at least the ones that I came up with yesterday), I suppose that I would go into the basket and pull out something from THE LIST. You know the one....the one that I revise and revise and revise until I finally throw my hands up and say "Oh fiddlesticks, I'm just going to stitch whatever the h-e-double hockey sticks I want to, so why do I keep making these stupid lists?"

The cause of the dilemma is the kitting that took place over the weekend. I found/bought threads for Luara J. Perin's "Reflecting Pools":
"Cut Glass Dishes":
and "Pineapple Quilt":

I love them all, and I wish I could adequately capture how pretty the colors are in real life. Trust me. They are. So I will either a) pick something from the basket, b) pick one of the LJP's, or c) start 'em all because God knows I could walk out my front door and get hit by a bus at any moment. I'm leaning toward "c" at this point.

Stewey is lounging in the sun today. When I downloaded my pics for the post, I noticed that he had taken a few self-shots over the weekend. I can't understand how to adjust the exposure on the camera, but my nine-pound Jack Russell terrier has mastered the finer points of artistic photography. Apparently he feels it necessary to have a selection of suitable shots for graduation. Considering that it's a few years away (he's only turning four on Wednesday, after all), methinks we have plenty of time to find Mr. DeMille.

  1. Don't you know that you can never start a new project from "The List" LOL I've been there and done that with great intentions only to go down some other path. But isn't it fun to do that? I absolutely love the Reflecting Pools design. Needlepoint is my next favorite thing to do and I was instantly drawn to your picture. How beautiful is that going to be? Love your thought of starting them all because you could be hit by a bus. That sounds like a great reason to throw caution to the wind and take some stitches out of all of them! Can't wait to see your progress with whatever you decide to do. And btw, love, love your SB finish!

  4. I sorta like Pineapple Quilt. I think the colors are great & that it would be interesting to stitch.

Starting all three would be my second choice ---

  5. Lovely finish! Congratulations!! And I LOVE all of the colors of threads you bought! Sure makes it hard to decide what you want to stitch first, so I say have a go at all of them! And please keep us posted on your progress!!

  7. Just came across your blog from "With Needle and Thread" and find it very amusing!

I love your stitching choices and agree that you should ditch "The List" and start them all! BTW, watch for those buses...LOL

What can I say about Stewey??? Can't wait to read what he has to say next :)

  9. Hi Coni,

I vote for starting all three!

Forget about the bus, you never know when one of your friendly chef's will stop by and totally distract you from your stitching! LOL!!!

I still don't have my Needlepoint Now magazine! I'm stalking the mail carrier as I want to read my SBFF's (Stitching Best Friend Forever) first published article!

Or at least I'm assuming that this is your first published article. Have you been published before? Inquiring minds want to know???

  11. Well.... can't you just grow two more sets of arms and eyes, and go to town? Hey, wait. I know! Stewey has four legs... isn't it about time he started earning his keep?? :) I see what you mean, though. I was going to pipe in with a "vote", but I couldn't decide... and these aren't even my charts! Whichever you choose, it will be gorgeous, I'm sure.

  12. Pretty, pretty, pretty Shepherd's Spring. And all that kitting ... I could never decide what to do. Maybe a drink would help!

  13. You can't go wrong picking any one of those three projects. Each has such a striking color scheme. :)

  14. Ooooh Shepherds Spring... gorgeous!! I vote with the majority, start all three. I sure as heck couldn't pick one out of that group... those colors are to die for.

  16. I love LJP designs. Have you ever found a good website that lists finished sizes? I need to stitch six for Christmas gifts next year and I'd like to do six different of the quilt designs but I just can't figure out six that are all the same size when finished. I plan on having wooden boxes made for them and it will be so much easier if I can order say, six 8 inch boxes or six 10 inches boxes. :-) Or maybe I should just email LJP and ask for assistance. She seems like a good egg. :-)

  18. I just wanted to let you know that I saw a Jack Russell outside of work today so, being a dog person, I of course hustled outside and made a new friend. He was a sweetie-pie! Anyhoo, I'm sure Stewie is even sweeter. He had a really good personality, like my dog Max (silky terrier). I have always thought of Jack Russells as totally spastic but this one was sweet! Thanks for your blog - it inspires me!
