Well, Dearies...I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that your intrepid Spinster has matured and no longer launches projects out the window when she discovers an epic fail.
Nor does she put said project in the driveway and back over it repeatedly with the SpinsterMobile while neighbors watch with unbridled horror.
The bad news is that Autumn Quilts is now officially in the TIME OUT basket until I can stop muttering cuss words under my breath because APPARENTLY I NO LONGER KNOW HOW TO READ A &$#@! CHART CORRECTLY and missed an entire inner border before completing a big section of a middle border so now there's nothing to be done but remove the big section of a middle border and pray I have enough thread to finish the damn thing properly.
Phooey. I'm going to bed.

Make the piece your own and leave out the inner border. It's a new design element!!!
ReplyDeleteWho needs an inner border??? Especially when winter arrives way too early.
ReplyDeleteHere in Toronto, it has snowed lightly all day but there hasn’t been too much accumulation. I stayed in, stitched and napped all day.
In an amazingly helpful episode of lersonal serendipity, I booked valet service for tomorrow morning to take my car for its change to snow tires!
Been there...done that. 🫣😬 On one piece I ignored the inner border....on the other I bit the bullet and embraced the 🐸. It was a whole lot easier to leave out the border. Just sayin'. Sending you good thoughts, a restful night & sweet dreams...
ReplyDeleteI agree , forget the inner border and make it your own design element.
ReplyDeleteAndrea
I think it looks fine without the inner border. I would just continue as is.
ReplyDeleteI rather like the look of the middle border up against the "blocks". It stands out more with the color contrast. 🤩
ReplyDeleteAh yes. The outer border is sized to accommodate the inner border - so... Another thought is to frog the outer border and call the piece done with the center design, which looks really pretty on its own.
ReplyDeleteI just finished a huge cross stitch of the 23rd Psalm, on which I had to re-chart and shorten the last third of the pattern by almost 3 inches to fit the length of my fabric. I thought I had even weave but it was linen, and therefore every stitch was slightly longer than wide. It took days to do it, but the end result is lovely. Whew.
I would never know there is a border missing if you hadn’t said anything! My vote is embrace it and let it be your own version of this design.
