ZEE BIRD...SHE EESE LONELEEE

I just spent a lovely few minutes in the cube room studio kitting up the Blooming Bunny companion to the Spring Songbird that I finished yesterday. Same deal...stitching this on 28ct Colour & Cotton lugana in Granny Smith, and all Colour & Cotton threads substituted for DMC (*).

And because I just can't leave well enough alone when it comes to bunnies...I'm almost finished with a cute little stained glass version (diamond painting) that I might just pop into a frame for a seasonal decoration this year.

Finally, my salad from last night. Mixed greens and veg with a grilled chicken breast on top, lots of black pepper and everything bagel seasoning with bleu cheese dressing because the chicken was flavored with buffalo marinade.

We're looking forward to the weekend, Dearies! My Lovies from Lima are coming over for the NotreDame Blue Gold Game (football Spring scrimmage), and then there's Palm Sunday Mass, brunch at Tippecanoe Place (the Studebaker Mansion), and then on Monday I turn the big bad 59 years of age...no longer allowed to act like a toddler, but not old enough to be the boss of everything.

Happy Thursday! Come tell me all about your little corner of the world!

(*) It's only taken me nineteen years, but I finally found a way to pick threads. I use my DMC color chart and find the designated color that is called for, and then I pick through my threads to find ones that are generally close to it. Sometimes I get right on the mark, and other times I go rogue...all depends on my choice of fabric.

  1. Ooohhh - I can’t wait to see that piece stitched up - it’s nice that Bird and Bunny can keep each other company!

  2. My only question is what do you do with all these pieces? I know I would not have enough wall space to hang them all. Do you give them all away?

    1. They go in a big box under the bed. 😬 I am a "process" stitcher and enjoy the making instead of the finishing and displaying. 🤭

  4. Who is the designer for the bunny and the bird? I don't recall seeing those charts and they really pretty. And I love stained glass themed designs and your bunny is no exception! Enjoy your weekend! Debby in CO

  5. Love the bird! And today, in a second-hand bookshop where I found exactly what I was looking for, I also saw a big brown rabbit, hopping around the shop. Which is in the middle of a small but very busy town. The owners explained that she is their pet, and this morning they spotted a large owl in their garden and decided not to risk leaving Ms Bunny alone, though the owl would have had to be the size of a vulture to even try to pick her up. I was delighted, but also embarrassed: I can chat to dogs and cats, but that rabbit left me at a loss for words - not my usual state of being! Looking forward to your progress - it's a lovely design.

  7. I am a process stitcher, but sell my creations at craft markets because I don’t have space to store them and so I can donate the proceeds to my favourite charity. That’s what I’ll be doing tomorrow.

  8. Daughters birthday Thursday (29). Church Sunday, lunch out Sunday, my birthday Tuesday (67) (always tinged with a little sadness because it was also my beloved fathers birthday too). A good long weekend all round.
