YOOOO HOOOO, HEIDY HO, AND GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS!

Good morning, Dearies!

Another good night's sleep has me ready and raring to go today. I'm still a bit tired and probably about 90% recovered from my adventure, but mentally still in a very good place.

Today's agenda is pretty simple. I see Dr Melfi at 1:00, and the rest of my day is dedicated to playing with Sara's gift. Here's my progress:

The chart calls for the lines in the ampersand (&) to be filled in, but I am considering leaving it as is, because I kinda' like it! We'll see how I feel after everything else is filled in, but for now I'm pretty chuffed.

My poor peace lily is in intensive care and I'm tending to her as best as I can, so happy thoughts are appreciated!

Happy Thursday to one and all! I hope you are happy and safe and cool and well today and that you'll come tell me all about it!

  1. Hi Coni
Try putting a fork in the soil of your peace lily to poke holes in the soil and then watering. Your soil looks like it may have become compacted which means that even though you are watering the plant, the water is running off and the plant isn't benefitting from the water. If this is the problem, the leaves should perk up in about 48 hours.

  2. I think the light source is too close. They do pretty good by a window that doesn't get strong sunlight.

  3. Peace lilies need low to medium light, so take that light away!

  4. Make sure that pot has drainage. Could have pool of water at bottom. Definitely take the light away.

  5. That is way, way, way toooooo much light. It’s burning up. I had one about 4 feet below a lamp that was turned on at night only. It’s also tooooo dry. If the soil is dry, dry water it. Otherwise leave it alone. Oi vey, poor plant. It’s a peach lily, give it some peace and quiet in its own corner. There is still life there. Don’t leave it next to cold air vent either.

  6. I agree with the above commenters re your spathiphyllum. They like dappled light and consistently moist, but not wet, soil. Putting the pot in a 1" deep saucer or the like and adding a little water to the saucer every couple of days has kept mine perky for a couple of years now. Every few weeks (when I remember) I give it a good soaking and let it drain before putting it back on the saucer. My suggestion for yours would be to a) give it a good soaking in rain water if you can collect enough- put the water in a big bowl and submerge the plant up to the top of the soil for about an hour, then take it out and let the excess water drain out. b)put the plant in a room that gets good diffused light, but no actual sunbeams. Spaths are like artists, they like good north light. You should start to see new baby leaves in a week or 10 days.
