FRIDAY

I will never understand myself.

When it's time to do something like stand up, or clean the kitchen, or take a shower and wash my hair, or go somewhere, I will fret and fret and fret over the impending exhaustion that will inevitably follow.

Which is exhausting.

So then I finally do the thing I fretted over, and I shake my head and mumble that I really am a boob, because the fretting took longer and was more tiring than the doing of the darn thing in the first place.

Can anybody relate?

  2. For me it's emptying the dishwasher and doing the trash. So, I remind myself that SOMEDAY I will not be able to do it, so do it now! Works for me.

  3. I do this too, and also find it exhausting! I hope your treatment goes smoothly today, and you have a relaxing weekend! Take care.

  4. I have found that "just do it" gets me through....and I feel
better for having done it afterward.

  6. Unfortunately, totally. I fret and plan our absolutely every move I make and it is exhaustinand never as bad as I thought it would be.

  7. You put an ear worm in my head... Carly Simon and "Anticipation" - at least the beginning:

We can never know about the days to come
But we think about them anyway
And I wonder if I'm really with you now
Or just chasin' after some finer day
    Anticipation, anticipation
    Is makin' me late
    Is keepin' me waitin'

Thinking and worrying about the future IS exhausting, but probably pretty normal and definitely a pandemic normal. And I wish I had the FB "like" button on everyone's comments! Love and hugs.

  8. I am glad I'm not alone. Nothing is every usually as bad as we think it is going to be. But still we fret.

  9. I do the same thing. If procrastination and resisting were Olympic sports I would win silver easily.

  11. Yes...agree! I dread drying my hair, but feel so good once it’s finally done and wonder why I didn’t just get up and do it right away.
