SCENES FROM A SPINSTER SATURDAY NIGHT

A light dinner...shrimp cocktain and chopped salad with rotisseri chicken:

And a few minutes on the balcony enjoying the new furniture and lights:

Happy Sunday, Dearies. I am back out on the balcony this morning with my damn good and the paper. No agenda today other than a little laundry, some stitching, and rest. I stayed up too late watching news (which I haven't done in over a year), and now I remember why.

Lots of stitching will be done this week, so help me. Stay tuned!

  1. Glad you are back. Great furniture. Sometimes the news is just too much to cope with. Enjoy you Sunday

  2. Glad you are feeling better. I like that furniture. We are looking for new stuff for our front porch. Take care and remember to rest (and don't watch the late news).

  5. Oh that looks so pretty on the balcony! Yummmmmmmm feast too! As for the news - I so agree. I was reading the updates on the virus and it was making me so angry and frustrated that I did a Marie Kondo on it! I'm sure my children would keep me informed - I only found out about the current affairs across the pond because my husband told me, so sad, so scary!
I think I'll go back to fairy and pixieland! Today we had a young deer in the garden minus fairies - maybe a few ticks - ugh reality still sneaks in!
So whatever you are up to today, be it D-chair or freedom of sorts, hope it's a good one! xxx

  6. Your balcony looks heavenly! And I am the same way about the news. I have to just back away and I am sure if there is anything that will be affecting me someone will let me know.

  7. Watching the news is below the bottom of my list of Things to Do. It's not just depressing because of the content, it's depressing because we can never know the whole story. TV exists for the sponsors, in most cases. In too many cases, the news MAKES the news. Okay, enough from Mother Wisdom. Scrumptious-looking feast you had there, and what a restful-looking balcony. We're fortunate to have a deck from which we can watch birds and horses playing around.
