FAAAAAAHHHHHHLLLLLL......

Things went from bad to worse when I got home from the d-chair, and my evening ended with me upchucking my sensible salad and putting myself to bed at 7:30. I am almost thinking it was a touch of a bug, since I am still a little queasy today and very very tired.

But enough of that.

Mother Nature flipped the thermostat...finally...and it is a gorgeous 63 degrees here in Hoosierville today! It was spitting rain a bit earlier, but now the sun is out and the breeze is just perfectly lovely. Sweater weather has finally arrived, Dearies!

I awoke with a hankering to play with needlepoint today, so after I read the paper and get some laundry sploshing I might pull out my Wendy Moore class piece from long ago. Or, I might look through all of my Laura J Perin patterns to see which one strikes my biggest fancy. I don't know what it is about the cooler weather...it makes me want to play with different toys.

Miss Danielle Stitcherista has me totally mesmerized with her coloring and diamond painting, so don't be surprised if I show up with ink on my hands and a mad dash to the Michaels for a dp kit. If I don't do that I might have to try my hand at baking some cookies for JB this weekend. Have you seen Miss Vonna's latest creations for FiberTalk?

(Raise your hand if you'd like to spend a week just sitting in Vonna's kitchen drinking coffee and watching her work her magic with every damn thing she does.)

Speaking of coffee, I'm afraid to report that I have a new addiction to my caffeine repertoire: cold brew. I had a coo-pun for the Dunkin Cold Brew kit from the Targets and made a batch and then found both sugar free vanilla syrup as well as Coffee Mate Natural Bliss vanilla to add.

Darn it.

Tastes just as good, if not better than a Venti Starbucks Cold Brew with two pumps of sugar free vanilla syrup and a splash of cream. I have been enjoying one of these every afternoon and think it is single-handedly responsible for my happy disposition.

(And my wallet is happy not to shell out $4.01 every day.)

So that's the report on a SpinsterDay. Nothing to complain about, considering. How are things in your neck of the world? Is it Faaaahhhhll where you are? Come tell me all about it!

  3. This is written with love.....do not make cookies for JB. There is no way you are going to resist at least taste testing for quality. That turns into a slippery slope for eating more food. JB really needs to be eating any and all treat, high calories or fatty foods outside the home and no where in your vicinity. You aren't on a regular diet, you are in a fight for your life.

  5. When I hit the outdoor temp button in the car, it registered
101...but I understand the car reading is higher than the
actual of 98...either way, it was stifling.. Glad you have had an Autumn visitation. Sorry you were bitten by some bug
and hope you recovered as the day wore on. That Dunkin cold brew sounds delicious and economical. A worthy substitute for a caloric snack....JB probably doesn't need the cookies and you don't need the temptation....enjoy a delicious cold brew.

  6. Cool beans (coffee ones probably) that you have discovered a tasty alternative and money left to go towards buying another stitchy delight along the line! A tad jealous of your weather.
Here ex-hurricane Lorenzo arrived yesterday and we are still getting gales and ever more rain. So frustrating not being able to get outside. We've lost half an apple tree last week, but the ducks have enjoyed chomping the leaves. It's been one of those years - maybe nicer next year!

  7. I'm killing myself laughing at the thought that 63 degrees is sweater weather it would defiantly be stripping off t-shirt weather here. Love your posts they brighten up my mornings. Hope the bug leaves you alone soon.

  10. I too fell victim to the cold brew addiction this summer. My very fave is the Gevalia Cold Brew concentrate. Already brewed up and ready to pour over some ice, add some cold water to bring it to your desired strength and add whichever flavorings, dairy etc. that your heart desires. Yummy! I was able to find it in the local grocery stores this summer but it's disappeared from the shelves over the last month or so. Fortunately, Amazon to the rescue as always! Since it's shelf-stable until opened, I order a half dozen at a time. Enjoy the cooler weather and take care of you this weekend!
