WHEW!

I really don't know anything at all about living in the grey or exercising moderation. I go from practically inert for five days to a Sunday morning filled with running to and fro.

We started with Mass at the Basilica over on campus, then the car wash, then the Costco for gas, then breakfast, the cigar store (for JB Magoo), then a quick splosh in the pool. Now I'm tumbling laundry and cleaning the kitchen, while simultaneously slurping my second big cold brew, because my eyes are so heavy I can't keep them open.

Jeepers.

Our heat wave is coming to a close as we speak, thank goodness. The week ahead is supposed to be beautiful, with lots of sunshine, cooler temperatures, and lower humidities.

Absolutely nothing else to report, Dearies. I am going to finish this icy damn good and get that needle back in my hand if it kills me!

What's new in your neck of the woods?

  1. Still hot with maybe a break by Wednesday! Coni, how do you fix your cold brew? Enjoy the rest of your day with needle, thread, and whatever else you are drinking to keep hydrated!

  2. I'm so glad you are feeling better and feel like doing things. It is hot, hot, hot here with no end in sight --- enjoy the lovely weather for me, too!

  3. OH please send us the cooler weather-here on east coast HOT and HUMID. Thank goodness for AC, cold water, ice and fans. Keeping the ducks cool is difficult at night-during the days they have kiddy pools and shade and watermelon treats but at night they have to be locked up. (foxes, coyotes and fishercats oh my!)The windows (covered with hardware cloth) are open in their shed but barely a breath moves even with 2 batt operated fans. We give them buckets
of cold water and fill a 5 gallon bucket with ice. So the ducks are tucked up fairly happily and I am covered with sweat. Counting the days til October

  4. Outside working in the veg patch before the weather heats up! Then the washing pile needs to be sorted. Then I might look online and get a duck house ready for some ducks! Or geese - small ones - not like the one in Friendly Persuasion! Now you can have a Pat Boone singalong! ;) Enjoy the snooze - the Spanish have their siesta time - good enough for us all in the heatwaves!

  5. We're looking forward to some rain tomorrow with some cooler days behind it as well. Going to be disappointed if it changes course! Just finished a piece last night and will make it into a pillow today for a gift.

  6. Often when we blame ourselves for the state of our condition when there are outside forces accounting for our punk.
Notice how much "better" you feel after the heat and humidity
lift and you can breath fresh again? Not your body...."feeling good" was there all the time...just needed to be tweeked. Enjoy the pool dip and your return to the needle.
