I haven't gone back to verify this, but I don't think I've ever participated in Stitch Maynia.
For those not in the know...Stitch Maynia was created in 2015, and the idea was to start new projects in the month of May. I believe the first group started 15 new projects for 2015. I think there were also folks who started 31 new pieces for the 31 days in May.
Over the years, Stitch Maynia has become wildly popular and a way to have some fun. I've been told there are NO RULES or restrictions to participate, so I have decided to dip my toe and see if I can do it.
For mu very own Maynia, I am going to stitch WIPs during the week and something wonderful on the weekends, If I finish Grasshopper Pie in April (which I'm really hoping to do) my weekend project will be Plum Pudding...another gorgeous piece in the same Dessert Series from Glendon Place.
I would also like to get back to journaling my stitching...something I have missed doing very much.
Who knows if I will succeed, but I won't know that unless I try, right? I know I have enough WIPs to play with that have a Spring/Summer theme, so I can stay in my lane with the whole seasonal stitcher thing. I suppose if Maynia goes well, I could repeat the same idea in the Fall, but I really shouldn'the get ahead of myself.
More contemplating to do, but I have plenty of time for that here in the d-chair today, Dearies.
Thanks you for your lovely thoughts about my eye. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem likely that I'll get this vision back in this part of the eye, but I am hoping that my tiny little brain will get used to it and compensate. For now...I'm determined not to dwell too much on it.
If this is a holiday weekend for you, I hope you enjoy it with your Lovies all around you, something yummy on your table, and your stitching to keep you happy!
You have participated but it's been a while back. I remember a post where you decided to start even though you were late doing so. I'm not a weird stalker I promise, I just have an excellent memory🙂
ReplyDeleteOMG Coni, I'm so sorry about your eye. I have my own serious health problems and I understand how hard it is to keep taking hit after hit. It's can be so demoralizing, and it's hard to keep swimming when we have to constantly acknowledge how we're slowly sinking in the water. Have a hug...I'll share my leaky lifeboat with you, and we'll attempt to find what joy we can in the rapids ahead.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find as much comfort and happiness in your stitching as I find in mine. I'm currently working on Mirabilia's Snow Queen, but might have to stitch something more summery soon. Perhaps I'll switch to this WIP, which I haven't touched since last fall: https://www.instagram.com/p/BnjZ0W6hGgY/
This was the first time I have ever heard if Stitch Maynia. It does sound like fun. I am dealing with various health issues do I may not do Stitch Maynia this yeat. I do look forward to hearing about your adventures and all that other of the readers of your blog report. Hang in and know you and all the blog posters are in my thoughts!!!!
ReplyDeleteHang in there Coni. You really are like a weeble doll, you just keep rolling back up. I had an eye stroke too, and it was challenging, but I found many ways of compensating. I also was very careful of my diet, and was incredibly lucky that the clot eventually resolved over a period of a couple of years. And your brain can do an amazing job of “interpreting” around the spot. But give yourself time, I found the blurred eyesight to be very exhausting for a while. I love reading your blog, and will be sending best wishes. Kimmen
ReplyDeleteConi - continue to take care of you. The event sounds like fun. Could I do it? Maybe, maybe not. I am looking forward to seeing Plum Pudding under the needle as it is my other favorite Glendon Place!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Easter!
my version of stitch maynia: buy a chart a day and just admire them--seem to have lost my stitching mojo, but not the desire to accumulate my stash!
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of dipping into Maynia with your WIPs. I think it is a swell idea to make it your own. Last year, a friend started 18 complimentary designs and even finished some of them. Wishing you a blessed Easter weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, Coni!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to get used to the blur but it gets better. I think my eyes learned to work together to compensate. And hang in with the dr's. Sounds like you have a good team.
ReplyDeleteThat is the best part of Maynia, you can do as little or as much as you want and no one is going to kick you out :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, I'll have to find out a bit more about Maynia. I've never participated. I wonder if I could squeeze it in. I'll have to take a look. 15 projects sounds a bit beyond me at the moment though!
