SATURDAY SPINSTER BLISS

Well, here we are on a lovely Saturday morning, Dearies! My treatment hangover is almost gone, and so far I've managed to have my damn good, a bite of breakfast, and a good and thorough laundry sort.

Life is good.

On the stitchy front, I decided to continue on with Cirque des Couers. I will have a new start on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, I think, but for now I am going to continue on with this one. If I can, I'm going to try to play in the cube room studio tomorrow after Mass. I am feeling like a few hours surrounded by piles of fabric and thread and charts and canvases might be a lovely way to spend a Sunday.

Rich and I are going out for dinner tonight and I am going to attempt false eyelashes. I got them for $1.50 at the CVS when I picked up a prescription, so I figured we'd give it a go. I'm either going to look glamourous and sophisticated or like a total psycho. Considering the total lack of makeup I've worn for the last ten years, this is significant progress, so let's cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Other than that...the sun is shining, the birds are tweeting sweetly, and we're headed into the weekend like a herd of turtles! I hope your Saturday is swell, that your needles or hooks or brushes or pens ate flying! Come tell me all about it!

  2. It must be "middle-aged women who had given up on makeup give it another try" week! I purchased a new "foundation" (OK, more of a tinted moisturizer/sunscreen) this week, and some translucent powder to apply over it. So far, so good. Don't feel like a clown, but don't look like I could scare away small children!

I am looking forward to hearing about the eyelashes!

  3. Lucky you to have sunshine. Down below you in central IN it is pouring rain and has been since this morning. A good day to read or stitch - I've done both today.

  4. C'mon Coni - we don't just wanna hear about the eyelashes, we wanna see pics please. And really, for $1.50 you're entitled to expect a very classy effect, aren't you?

  5. I'm with Megan - we need a piccy! LOL!
Here it's blowing a gale and definitely an indoors day, so prepping for quilt retreat and perhaps a baking session later.
Have fun tonight and hope the eyelashes stay on! :D

  6. I so hope you have made a post about how the false eyelashes went for you. They seem like they would be terribly hard to work with.
