I remember her needlepointing a rug. I chuckle thinking that she probably got the Secret Service guys to carry her rug on and off Air Force One so she could work on it during the flights.
Mrs. Bush was a true lady, a worthy role-model and a wonderful leader. Also I so admire her faith in choosing 'comfort care' for the end of her life. Godspeed Mrs. Bush. :) prayers, ♥ Cathryn
You are so right! She was a beautiful lady with class, dignity, strength & a stitcher to boot! I remember seeing that article on the beautiful rug she needlepointed, took her 9 years & she put personal memories in it, like her grandchildren's initials. What a wonderful woman!
She came from the era of the great generation and we are not likely to see again womanhood exemplified as she portrayed it; with aplomb, grace and humor..... a class act. Live and rest in peace, dear lady.
Rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember her as a needlepointer who carried handwork on the long campaign trails. Rest in Peace, Mrs. B.
ReplyDeleteGreat lady!
ReplyDeleteAmen. Some things should transcend politics and geography. Well said Coni.
ReplyDeleteIt was quite inspiring looking through some of her life's photos last night.
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t agree with you more.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! She was a breath of fresh air, determined but not obnoxious. She showed class and graciousness. She will be missed.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100%.
DeleteShe was an amazing woman. She will definitely be missed.
