IN WHICH WE MAKE A PROMISE TO OUR FAITHFUL FRIENDS...

I, the Spinster Stitcher Her Very Self do solemnly promise that this week will be filled with nothing but rest and stitching and reading and blogging and the making and eating of good food.

No more unpacking.  No more hauling, climbing, hammering, grunting, sweating, cursing, crying, or fretting.

At least not this week.

This week I am going to go to Elkhart EGA's carry-in picnic on Monday night, a fistulagram and possible angioplasty on Friday morning, and then stitching with Miss Jane and the South Bend EGA picnic carry-in on Saturday.

I'm going to take lots of snoozy naps with my face in the sun, read lots of library books on a lounge chair at the pool, and wander around the Michael's or the Targets if the mood strikes me for something frivilous and fancy.

There is still a very long list of stuff to do both here and at CS1, but not this week.  I am tired and just plain worn out and it's time I stop acting like a crazy person and take a breath for a minute.

There.

I just said all of this right out loud in front of you, God, and everybody else so now I have to keep my word.  If I break it and do anything not on this list I will feel bad about it and I think I've had just about enough of that for one lifetime.

So here's to a happy, healthy, peaceful week full of fun and shenanegins.  Hope yours is much the same and that you'll have a cold one and put your feet up with me.

WooHoo!

  3. Promising to do fun things is not remotely comparable to seeking medical help via medication and therapy. Please go see a medical professional and discuss your precarious mental state. You sound dangerously unstable.

    2. Of course you're anonymous. Obviously you haven't been paying attention to everything our dear Coni is working through and doing a very good job with considering all she is facing. If you're a therapist and actually want to help, not hurt, send her a private email and see if you can be a sounding board. Your negativity is NOT welcome or appreciated.

    3. Wow....that's all I can say is Wow. Hiding behind "Anonymous" and being, to put it bluntly, a bitch, is about as horrifying as it gets.

I second (or fourth) the other three people who said go away.

  5. And if I may add a little something. A few months ago my stitching was really in a rut. My stash looked stale and everything in the stores was boring. I started knitting! Nothing fancy - a few scarves, very easy. But it was fun and when I went back to stitching I felt refreshed for lack of a better word. And I think I learned a few things about texture. Just a thought.

  6. You go girl! I like your attitude. I must admit, I do not know what a fistulagram is. (It doesn't sound like something to my list of to do though.)

Good for you!!!! Everything in your new home sweet home seems to be shaping up nicely (wish you were my neighbor so you could help me decorate because you are talented). Sounds like you have a plan. Stitch, snooze, snack, and be sweet to yourself.

  8. Coni, thinking of you. Be good to yourself and enjoy the things you have planned -- the books, the snoozy naps, the outings with your guild buddies.

  15. You go girl ... straight to the Happy Chair, as announced. Your new home looks sensational; I'm ready to move in myself. I especially like your Happy Chair. I have a recliner, and it's comfy enough, but it doesn't hold a candle to yours. Everything looks beautiful, which will make relaxing all that much nicer. Enjoy. Indiana Robin

  16. Oh yes, this sounds like just the ticket. Now myself, I would so want to keep my promise but I would end up sneaking and doing something. Your comment "cursing, crying, or fretting" has me laughing - I'm so been there! Enjoy your down time.
