Yuckety yuckety yuckety. I like the theory of my design, but not the execution.
Is it the colors? The combination? The varieagated? Do I plow on? Stop? Drink tequilla?
I see some time up in the studio in my future. Don't be surprised if this gets turned into one big fat doodle cloth.
Don't quit, yet! There is much wonder in what you have started.
ReplyDeleteColors not as pretty as what you usually select.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty, just not exciting? Maybe add some metallics? How about some bugle beads? It's a challenge!
ReplyDeleteStop, drink tequila, and carry on!! I think it will be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks lovely but a little tequila can't hurt anything either :)
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful to me, but what do I know? Walk away for a few days and see what you think later.
ReplyDeleteIMHO, to my eye, the color. But I'm not a fan of red with purple. Many people are, though. Usually you pick color combos that knock my socks off. And, drink some tequila anyway!
ReplyDeleteTequila makes anything look better! But I agree with trying a bit of sparkle. I think it's pretty though, you're just looking at a fraction of the finished design and it will change as you stitch more of it. If it still is driving you bonkers, give it a time out!
ReplyDeleteI agree about tequila. I also think that the white (?) background is not the best for the vibrant colors of the center motiff. Difficult to tell as my monitor is not color perfect. You will figure it out
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching! Add some sparkle and another color to balance the darkness of the colors on canvas.
ReplyDeleteLove the center design, Coni, and the colors. What I'm not sure about is the cream block background and the other designs you've got going on. I don't know anything about stitching, but I thought bargello was where you started a design in the center and just kept working out from there? I think the center is fabulous, it just needs to be built continuously from there. I do think a judicious use of a creamy, gold sparkle or a copper color would give it a nice pop. Not too much though.
ReplyDeleteMaybe some tiny gold beads sprinkled around the white background and some metallic red thread in the center design instead of the soft red? Heat it up and have some fun.
ReplyDeleteI think the general colors are fine. Maybe what you are looking for is a little more "pop". Maybe change one of the colors to a brighter tone?
