Today is colonoscopy day, which means I don't have any stitchy updates for you because I was otherwise engaged last night.
Do you think it at all strange that I am loathe to reveal mundane details about myself, yet feel perfectly free to discuss the fact that in a few hours I will be ready (and I mean....really ready) for my close up?
Don't ask me about politics or sex or religion or money, kids, but if you'd like to see the latest surveillance pictures of my transverse colon, they'll be posted on YouTube shortly.
Actually, my willingness to talk about colonoscopies is because my mom died at the tender young age of 54 from metastatic colon cancer, just a few months after her mother died of the very same thing. I myself was diagnosed with Crohn's disease about 20 years ago, so...
If you haven't done it yet and your doctor and your family are urging you to do so, I implore you as a daughter and a patient to get it done. Drink the stuff, eat some jello, and look at it as a cleansing fast that Gweneth Paltrow and other celebrities pay tens of thousands of dollars for.
So please talk amongst yourselves today, my friends. I'll be back in the saddle tomorrow with updates, I promise. In the meantime, do something fabulous and tell me all about it.
