I took your good advice and called my doctor, and she suggested a crash helmet and assisted living. (Seriously...I had a CT scan this morning and think all must be well since nobody hollered anything about cutting my head open STAT!) I did quite a number on myself, though, so it looks like I will be taking lots of epsom salt baths, popping a few muscle relaxers, and just generally taking it easy for a bit. But can I just say that when one tumbles to the ground like a sack of hammers, it is so good to know that there are wonderful people out there who will gently tell you to get yourself to the doctor and stop screwing around.
I hope that wherever you are is exactly where you want to be and that you will stay warm and safe and dry (and UPRIGHT) !
So glad you have nothing seriously gone wrong. Taking it easy and stitching in your Happy Chair will definitely get you ontheroad to 100%. I am certain Stewey wants to be assured that your opposable thumbs still work (to open the food containers)....
ReplyDeleteGlad everything checked out fine. Nice progress on your current project.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you're on the mend. Love to Stewey!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you saw the doctor and everything is ok. Better to be safe than sorry!! The soreness will subside...feel better soon Coni. Love and double kisses to Stewey (I was so flustered last time I commented I forgot!)
ReplyDeleteJust checked in to see what you were up to and Whoa ... yes what a calamity. Glad to hear that you checked out OK and are at home in the stitchy-chair!
ReplyDeleteThere have been a few times that the weather/footing conditions were so bad that the trash can waited one more week for the pickup. It just wasn't worth it to wrestle the giant rolling bin to the curb.
I also have a good pair of low-rise hiking boots for bad weather ... though ice is pretty much impossible with most footware. That's where the hiking pole / or the old ski poles come in. You could probably pick up a used one / pair at a used sporting goods sale after the ski season. After I gave up sking, I kept my poles for the occasional snow/ice we get in NC.
We don't bounce so well after a certain age (as I keep reminding my mother). So take care and just ignore the sanitation schedule during the fowl weather.

Glad to hear your on the mend. Love to Stewy.
ReplyDeleteI fell just before Christmas going to the mailbox and ended up laying out in the street. I'm still dealing with the pain and swelling in my right foot because I didn't go to the er or dr about it. I gotta say "Bumbles don't always bounce" Yukon Corneluis

Glad you are doing ok! I am a supreme clutz and stairs will be my demise one day. Funny that I live in a 3rd floor walkup! :) Rest up and feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWe lost a friend that fell backwards, smacked her head, and refused to have a CT because she felt fine. So glad you went. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSmart lady getting yourself checked out. Yep - it's a hassle, but you just never know. Speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your ka-boom :(. I hope you take time to rest, heal and let the appropriate staff member tend to your every need and whim! (Yea, I don't have "staff either, but it sure is fun to say). Lol
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are on the mend. Hope Stewey is looking after you well.
ReplyDeleteLove and Wisdom is looking lovely
Happy you're ok. Glad Stewey didn't have to witness it :-)
