OK, I get it. The house is cold.
I'm known for keeping my house cooler than a meat locker, and apparently the damn dog has decided to throw a massive guilt trip my way. I was frantically searching all over the house for him moments ago and found him on his perch:
And clutched in his little paw was a note to the ASPCA and this photograph:What he NEGLECTS to tell, however, is the ridiculous lower back ache his mommie is sporting today because SOMEBODY had to curl himself up into a little ball and glue himself to the absolute damn center of the big girl sleigh bed all night. Damn dog.
I planted my b-u-t-t in the Happy Chair yesterday at about 4pm and looked up at the clock again at 2am. Without even realizing it, I watched "Atonement", "Miss Pettigrew", "Dirty Dancing", and "P.S. I Love You" while stitching on "The Riddle".
For the life of me, I cannot figure out what the heck the black and white thing is to the left of the sheep. A dog? A horse? The perspective is wonky on this, so I can't judge it by size. (You'll note that the blue columns at the top of the little hill are actually legs. Quite large, Marge, when compared to the little teeny weeny building in the back, no?
Man, I wish I would have paid more attention in art class!
My guess it's a dog.
ReplyDeleteJane
I thought a cow.
ReplyDelete63*???? YIKES...I'd be snuggled under a blanket, too...with gloves on!! I couldn't stitch. My fingers would be popcicles!! LOL Poor Stewey :) You need to get him a sweater. When I was a kid our 2 dogs had sweaters for when they went outside in the winter (we lived in MI). How is Stewey going to blog if his "fingers" are cold??!!
ReplyDeleteStewie looks like the who-hounds here in SF - the slightest hint of a chill and they are wrapped up like chihuahua mummies!! I love, love LOVE - The Riddle - it looks great. I have it in my stash for a future project at some time later - so I will enjoy your stitching for now.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say horse, but no horse I've ever seen has a tail like that. Not to say it couldn't be a horse... samplers are weird like that.
ReplyDeleteBut! I think it's a wolf.
You win! Your house is even colder than mine is, but I say "put on a sweater" to anyone who complains.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a group of movies. I need to come and hang out at your house.
I guess that's the riddle......
ReplyDeleteI love it when I lose time stitching - it means it was usually a successful evening! The Riddle looks great.
my vote? it's a dog with flopppy ears and a curled up tail - all barnyards have a barnyard dog. i think the man is huge because the house is suppossed to be way off back in the distance and he is probably good prespective size-wise against the UFO (unidentified furry object) and the other animals. so next project? crochet the damn dog a sweater... or a robe.. or complete sleeper with footies. and put a bundling board down the center of the mattress - your side-his side.
ReplyDeleteWow, you and my husband should get together - he likes that meat locker temp too! Not sure what the object is - will have to look at the pattern.
ReplyDeletePantoef is horrified and sends his best wishes to your Stewey.
ReplyDelete*I'm* horrified and send my best wishes to you. Damn beasts: so small and yet they take up so much of your bed space.
Black and white animal? That must be a cow.
63 degrees!! Yikes...that's cold and I like cold and fog! Poor Stewey! I'd be snuggled up too. I love your stitching movies and I understand your Gerard Butler obsession. He is HOT! I think I better netflix PS I Love You again.
ReplyDeleteUmm...I think it's a cow? Great progress on The Riddle!
Hmmmm, perhaps THAT is The Riddle.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Great Dane we saw at the dog park today!
ReplyDeletePoor little Stewey needs a Snuggie! That way, he can watch the tube, blog, do anything according to the commercial! :)
ReplyDeleteMy vote is, it's a dog.
I go with wolf too .. especially since it's so close to sheep.
ReplyDeletePoor misunderstood Stewie ... Dash is a bedhog as well, he tells me it's not that he wants to pushe me out of the bed and get all the good pillows to himself, but because he loves me.
I'd say a horse... but may be a Great Dane. You stitch so quickly! And, you get so much butt time. I am jealous. I'd love to watch more movies and stitch more. I also prefer a cooler house, but 63 is pretty chilly even by my standards.
ReplyDelete65* is my favorite temperature!
ReplyDeleteThe Riddle looks terrific and I think it is a sheep-dog!
Great stitching, I think it's a goat....and maybe that is paul Bunyun you are stitching...lol
ReplyDeleteTell Stewey if he gets too cold he can hop a plane to Okinawa Japan and spend some time with me, it is still nice and warm in the 80's here! And then you can turn the barameter down to negative-whatever-the heck and it won't matter! =)
ReplyDeleteGiven the floppy ears, I'm thinking maybe it's a donkey? You know, the old fashioned, bowed-back, "seen too much of this poop" kind? :)
ReplyDeletePoor Stewey. My Molly LOVES the house cold. She gets on the bed and pants in my face if it's over 65 degrees in here. And being a black lab/german shepherd/chicken mix, she can really soak me in her drool if I don't wake up immediately. :)
Isn't it what they call "perspective" - something discovered in ancient Greece - or mastered by Ancient Greece artists - I wasn't listening much in art class...
ReplyDeleteI'm with Monica... it's a dog with his floppy ears. The dog and man are in the foreground and the sheep and house are in the distance. =)
ReplyDeletePoor Stewey. I think I'd turn into an ice cube at 63 degrees! Give me 69 in the summer and 73 in the winter and I'm a happy girl. 63 and I'd be running to the local hotel for warmth.
Great stitching...63 now that's COLD!
ReplyDeleteI have no clue what that animal might be. horse, dog, cow???
ReplyDeleteYou do, however, keep your house the same temp as me!
Ah, there are times during the day I would love that temperature. Other times not so much. Can you tell I'm going through 'the change' as men call it? I call it lots of other things that one cannot mention on a nice polite blog such as yours. And I have a cat who has totally decided he should have a pillow to put his head on like us. Whoever gets to bed last has to toss the cat aside but then he just steals the cover. Of course it is not quite that cool here yet but we do keep our temp at 65 or 66 during the winter and I drag out my snuggie. My husband laughs at it but it does allow me to stitch or read while staying warm.
ReplyDeleteA black and white collie dog, me thinks, shepherding the sheep!
ReplyDeleteShare of the bed
husband: a half
very tiny cat: 3 eights
me: remaining 6 inch strip down the edge!
Damn cat even sits outside the closed bedroom door wailing until I give in and let her in!
Ummm, I think the black and white thing is actually a goat. Too small, not bulky enough for a cow. Sometimes goats are drawn with the wierd curvy shape - or so I've seen.
ReplyDeletePuckster the English Springer - who is likely equal to about 5 Steweys also seems to feel compelled for small of back snuggling - these guys are channelling. BTW - in winter, our night temp, 56, right now, it's still a balmy 68 or so.
