WHEW!

It takes forever to build a house! I swear it took all of six hours to get that stupid brown house stitched. AND! The poor little girl in the red dress can't even fit in it!

Sheesh.

***EDITED TO ADD: THANK YOU! Thank you to you kind fellow stitchy friends who revealed that you too started this project in the wrong place because THE STUPID CHART HAD STUPID ARROWS ON IT INDICATING THE STUPID CENTER, BUT IT IS THE STUPID CENTER OF THE WHOLE DARN PIECE AND NOT THE STUPID CENTER OF THE STUPID MAIN DESIGN. I swear, I thought it was just me.

  5. I too worked on this same design and I made it into a project keeper like it was intended to be.I had a mishap while working on this as well because of the pattern for the main stitched piece and the pattern for the needlebook being on the same page.So what did I do? I followed the arrows for the center point when I started stitching which pushed the stitching toward one side. Luckily I had some space on the side for stitching it to the pocket. I guess I should have noticed it before I had a lot of stitching done on it but I didn't.I wish LHN would mark each pattern with center points when publishing more than one piece on a page! Nice start on this.Yes. I too hate it when I have to rip stitches out. Especially with those higher priced overdyed flosses! Nice blog by the way!

  7. Heh... maybe your girl needs to lay off the Big Macs like I do so one day she'll fit into her house.....

Those damn houses always take forever - The red house in my LHN Neighbourhood? I just about expired of boredom stitching the never ending roof tiles...

  8. If I had just an ounce of your fortitude and determination, not to mention talent, skill and ambition, I would have much less in the UFO/WIP pile and so much more in the Finished/Needs finishing pile. Good work!!! I love this piece and never tire of watching you stitch it! (giggle)

  9. I've heard several people comment on the chart for this piece. You aren't alone, Coni. And she looks really cute anyway.

  10. I'm glad that you gave us the heads up. I just bought the needlebook and haven't started it yet. Yours is looking good. And you made me laugh about the girl not fitting into the house!!

  11. Stick with it Coni. Once I got it centered in the right place on my linen it went very quickly! Of course, I ran out of Brandied Pears floss because of all the ripping I did, but fortunately I had more in my stash.

  12. You seriously crack me up. :)

It still looks great. That poor little girl. Maybe there are some double french doors in the back and she can get in that way. (Yeah, I know... that was STUPID). lol

  13. I just started one of her silk thread packs, and the chart has the same flaw. The page includes an alphabet to personalize, so the center arrows included that other chart. Darn computer generated centerings!
